Trustees Report - 2024 - 2025
Trustees - Hayley Green - Kelly Denton
Manager - Mandy Walton
This report covers 1.9.2024- 31.8.2025
September children - 33 pre-school children - 23 toddlers and 10 babies
These numbers slowly increased during the year. we had 31 children leave in the July
to go to twelve dif ferent schools. All of the dif ferent teachers were able to come
into nursery to visit the children starting With them in the following September.
Staf f - 17 with another 2 on maternity leave.
During the year, we ￿lIned two more staf f and one Apprentice, one returned f rom
Maternity leave.
The year has been a very busy one with the pre-school children enjoyin9 the Kixx
sessions on a Thursday throughout the term. This is an outside agency that comes in
and supports the children with their ball skills, promoting listening, teamwork etc.
We have taken part in the annual Flower Festival at Long Sutton Church, out theme
being "Teddy Bears". We have also taken wt in the East Midlonds Britain in Bloom
competition where the judges gave us a wsitive report and were interested in what
we have to of fer the children. The children had done a lot of planting and growing to
help them understand where their food comes f rom.
The children have enjoyed having the eggs and incubator to watch the chicks hatch..
this is always a very positive experience as they get to handle the chicks and learn the
lif e cycles and how to care for living creatures.
They also eXperIen￿d caterpillars changing into butterf lies and watchin9 the
ladybird's life cycle.
We have h¢Jd a visit f rom the Fire Engine which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
There have been many walks around the 9rounds surrounding the nursery. lookin9 at
the natural world, collectin9 things like conkers. cones etc to use back in nursery.
The photographer has been in twice durin9 the year and this is always a good
fundraising project although a little hectic on the days they are in.
We arranged a sponsored conker hunt to raise money, this is always a good fundraiser
totally over a thousarKI pounds.

The staf f have undertaken numerous training session throughout the year i ncluding
SENDCO training, Transitions and Partnership meetings, Prevent and other
safeguardi ng courses, Orol Health, Sa9e as well as Manager brief ings and ￿￿tWOrkS.
PAT testing is carried out annually along with the Fire EKFinguishers, Alarms (both
f ire and intruder) and the Legionella checks and Risk Assessments
Throughout the year. Parents Evening/meetings have been taking place, especially for
the children moving to big school in September, supporting parents in helping their
child to be school ready.
The Holiday club has been in operation durin9 all school holidays and was particularly
busy some weeks in the summer. The children are able to make new f riends as well as
meeting old friends f rom tefore they went of f to dif ferent reception classes.
In all this has been a very busy year, the staff have worked really hard to ensure the
best outcomes for all of the children in their care.
The f unding was introduced for babies the term after the child was nine months so
this meant more spaces to cover the demand.
The committee is being supported by Dinky Ones to make the change over to a CIO,
this is still in progress and meetings have been hekl with all parents who have a9reed
to the change.
