INTRODUCTION
Brent Indian Community Centre (BI4C) proudly marks its 46th year, Sin￿ it stsrted in
September 1978, under the leadership of its President Mr. Naginbhhai Misty.
As the longest-serving community centre in Brent, BI£C has consistently provided
exceptional services to meet the evolving needs of its diverse members.
Our mÉmbèrg eongigtg of individualg ovér 60 yéarg old, many of whom faeé challèngès
such as limited English proficiency, low income, widowhood. long-term illnesses, and low
levels of technological literacy.
On 26 April 2024, BI-CC retumed to its original location at 19 Dudden Hill Lane, following
extensive reconstruction in collaboration with Brent Council, resulting in the creation of
SWAGAT Hall.
Our dedicated volunteers and committee members, representing various backgrounds.
uphold an 'open do0￿ policy that fosters a secure and welcoming environment for all. We
are committed to safeguarding the eldedy and ensuring that every user is treated with
respect.
BI-CC remains dedicated to serving the local community of Brent and its surrounding
areas, particularly supporting Iow-income families, single-parent households, the elderly,
and vulnerable individuals. We provide a vital space for community members to connect,
share their experiences, and find mutual support.
BI-CC Membershi
Since the Covid lockdowns began in March 2020, Bl-cc's activities have significantly
increased, setting the recognised stsndard of service within the Brent community and
across the wider London Boroughs.
Our membership extends beyond Brent to encompass various areas of London.
We have expanded our activities. including trips to numerous London Palacas. museums.
and places of interest, as well as heavily subsidised seaside trips.
BI-CC'S membership has grown substsntially, from approximately 75 members before
Covid in 2019 to over 400 members by the end of March 2025. This increase is largely
attributed to our enhanced daily activities, more frequent outings, and the opportunity for
members to meet new friends within the community.
These social activities have greatly benefited morale and well-being. especially after the
loss of many community members due to Covid.
BI-CC'S membership spans the widest areas in Brent, induding Willesden. Harlesden,
Kingsbury, Kenton, Kensal Rise. Neasden, Stonebridge, Cricklewood, Churchend.
Kilburn, Wembley, as well as areas of Stanmor8, Finchley. Our membership now also

Chairnian's Statement
As Chaiman (Mr Laxmanbhai Patel) of BI-CC - it has been my privilege to have served the
communty and yet it has been a huge challenge tsking over the role from our President
Naginbhai Misty, who has inspired the creation of Brent Indian Community Centre, since
September 1978.
In th8 past y82r. we h2vo introduc8d many new activities 2nd also carried on with many of
our established activities, which has significanty increased our membership. l am honoured
to have such committed Committee Members and the many volunteers who have
contributed to yet another successful year for BI-CC.
l also take this opportunty to thank all our Teachers. Trainers, Support Teachers, our many
trip organisers, and not forgetting the Bhajan and Kitchen staff and volunteers, who are here
everyday to keep the centre running.
Finally, all organisations are dependent on some key membefs of the Committee and
without the Treasurer to manage the Finances of our organisation or the Secretary for the
add to day communications with our members and the Councils, to ensure we have a
smooth transition to the new hall.
I take this opportunity to thank Brent Council. WINmott Dixon. CVS Brent, Solicitors - IEC
Solicitors Mr Neil D'souza, Accountant- D V Shah & Co Ltd. National Lottery- Community
Funding, Royal Collection Trust for visits to many London Palaces and also to Historic Royal
Palaces for visits to Historical Palaces, Wembley Community Trust for funding and Tours of
Wembley Stsdium and British Museum.
In the past year we have already taken the organisation into the new direction, with the new
redevelopment of BI-CC. We will therefore continue to re-organise our Committee and look
for Committee Members who can significantly increase the level of support they can
volunteer for our future activities to thrive.
Some of our current and past Committee Members, who have supported the Organisation
are getting old and find it difficult to support the Centre. as much as they use to or would like
to, and hence we would like new Committee Members, as it is essential for the fvture
success of BI-CC.
I would like to thank the current Committee members and the many volunteers who continue
to support our daily activities, to make it the success it has been in the past year.
We at BI-CC will continue to offer our members new activities. however without your
participation on an ongoing basis in all our activities, tt can be disheartening to us, therefore
I request that you participate and those who can also help with setting up and clearing after
each event, as this Organisation is your Centre.
After financial year end charity re￿iVed a notification from Brent Council that they will make
the payment of £31,548.45 towards the Electricity bills. However there is no payment made
yet and no provlsion has been made in the Income Statement.
