We are able to offer children play, education and care in accordance with Ofsted's Early Years Foundation Stage education and welfare requirements. Primarily this is through renting an appropriate space to provide these requirements and the employment of trained, qualified and experienced staff. We admit children from families within the local community and the wider area within Milton Keynes from varied family backgrounds.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
During the year, the preschool continued to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children could learn, develop and thrive. The dedicated staff team worked hard to deliver high-quality early years education, supporting children in achieving positive outcomes across all areas of learning and development. Despite ongoing financial pressures, including increases in staffing costs resulting from changes to the National Living Wage and associated employer contributions, the preschool remained financially stable and successfully balanced its budget for the year. The preschool maintained strong relationships with families and the local community, ensuring children received the support they needed to reach their full potential. Regular reviews of policies and procedures ensured compliance with current legislation and best practice, helping to maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and education. The trustees would like to thank the preschool manager, staff team, volunteers and families for their continued commitment and support throughout the year. Their dedication has enabled the preschool to continue fulfilling its charitable objectives and providing valuable early years education within the community.

Reserves Policy
The charity's reserves policy is to build and maintain unrestricted reserves equivalent to approximately three months' operating income. These reserves are held to provide financial stability and to ensure the preschool can continue to operate effectively in the event of unforeseen circumstances. The reserves are intended to cover potential contingencies, including temporary fluctuations in income, particularly during the Autumn term, redundancy costs, Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), increases in National Living Wage rates, employer pension contributions, and other unforeseen expenditure. The trustees recognise the continuing financial pressures facing the early years sector and have therefore taken into account recent above-average increases in employment costs, uncertainty surrounding future nursery funding levels, and the impact of declining birth rates on future enrolment numbers. Maintaining an appropriate level of reserves helps ensure that the charity remains financially resilient and able to continue delivering its charitable objectives.
