The Trustees present their report with the financial stsi¢ments of the chariry for the yfdr cnded 31 March 2025. Th¢ Truste¢s
have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting bN Charities: Ststement of Recornmended Practice applicable to
charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ire5and (FRS 102) (effective l January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND AcrtVlTIES

a. To maintain. foster and irnprovc th¢ Welfar¢, Educati￿ and Esprit de Corps of Offic¢rs, Warrant Officers, Non-
c.ommissioned Officers and men now and from time ￿ lime serving or who have 5crved in ihe Royal Tank R¢gimcnt.
b. To promote the military efficiency of members of the Ro) al Tank RegimenL
To make gifts, grants, loans of money or otherwise to provid¢ financial assistance or aid to any persons who have
formerly served or 41 th¢ tim¢ s¢rving in the Royal Tank R¢gim¢nt and who arc in difficult circumstances and their
dependants in similar circumsthnces of any such person.
d. To make purchases or provide monies for the provision of such amenities as mav be consideTcd desirable for the
purpose of the well being, morale or efficiency of unit% sU￿uni￿ or bodies of OtTicers and men or for individuals who
are serving in th¢ Royal Tank Regiment or have fomerly s¢rY¢d in Regimeni.
To make gifts. donation& loans or grdnts of monies or other%*'ise to provide financial assistance to the Royal Tank
liegimeni Association, Royal Tank Regimeni Benewoleni Fund or io any oiher Fund or body having exclusively
charitable objects. and fornied for the Purpose of assisting or benefiting in any manner authorised by the objects of the
Fund. persons who have served or are servin8 in the Royal Tank Regiment and their dependants of such p¢rsons
aforesaid.

The market va]ue of the Inve￿Me￿ portfolio was £1.319.950 {2024 £1.335,986). This figure include5 cash held by CCLA.
The asgets are available and adequate in respect of all funds tt) en*ble the Charity io meet its obligations.
Public benefit
The Tru5t¢es confirm that they have wmplied with the duty in S￿lI0n 17(5) of the 2011 Charities Act to have due regard
to the 8uidance contained in the Charity Commi$5ion'$ 8¢nernl guidanc¢ on publi¢ benefit when revi￿Ing the Trust's aims
and objectives.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
The Fund made an annual grant to a welfare organisation to improve the welfare of oificers, W'arrant Officers, Non-
Commissioned OtTicers and men. It is expected that these grdnts will k continued to be made at the same level in the
future.
b. The Fund also made annual grants to th¢ Reglrnen￿ funds to promote the mililary elTiciency of members of the
Royal Tank Regimenl. These grants are for OtTicers. Warrant Officers Non Commissioned Officers and men. It is
expected thai these grdnts will continue to be made al a similar leN'el in the future.
The Fund continue5 to suP￿rt a number of individuals for sporting excellence. The money 1$ given to the recipient to
fitrth¢r improve their chantts of 5UCC¢S5.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial positioD
The assets of the Charity are held for the generation of further income. They consist prin¢ipally of investments which are
shown in the accounts at market V￿uc.
Th¢ Charity relies upon donations, legacies fimction income, trading income, inveslment income and 'One Day's Pay, for its
income resource. The total incomc for Financial Year 2024125 was £109,474 including designated and restricted ￿nds.
Total income from investments, including deSi￿ted and restricted fimds. was £37.935. Income from donafions amounted to
£63fv1 including designated and restricted funds.
Trustees, Power of Investrnent
{ l ) The Royal Tank Regiment Colonel Commandani's Fund investment funds fonn a part of the Royal Tank Regimeni
Common Investment Fund. Th¢ Tru*ees of the Royal Tank Regiment overs¢¢ and control this investment as part of the
common fund.
(2) Tr Trusices have the wjwer to ap￿]nt a Cor￿)rate ix>dy a5 th¢ Trust¢¢3' Nominee to hold the inveslments for th¢
Charity. The Trustees have made CCLA Limited the TrUs￿e'S Nomintt.
(3) The investsr)ent objectives agreed for the Ro>al Tank Regimeni Colonel Commandant's Fund provide the Trustee's
Nominee. CCLA Limite& with discretionary powers of investmeni within the following objeciives. Param￿erS and
guidance:
(a) Annual Drawdown is ai £42.IMxI for the Royal Tank Regimen( Colonel Commandant's Fund.
(b) Growth Taryet: CPI + 40/0.
(c) Level of Risk: The portfolio is held in a combination of medium risk and low risk investhients.
(d) Payment of investment income is monthly on a total returns bASiS.
Reserves pollcy
It is the poli¢y of th¢ Charity to maintain unrestricted funds at a l¢v¢l which equate to approximately 12 months unrestricted
expenditure. This provides 5uifi¢ient funds to wver management and administration and support costs. Unr¢stricted funds
are mainthined al1¢&st at this lev¢l throughoui the year. Ai the year cnd the Chariry held £152.974 (2024.. £121.923) a5 cash
reserves of which £150.616 (?024: £119.335) wa5 unrestri¢trd, Free res¢rves at the year end, defined as unrestricted
reserves less fixed assets. iotsll¢d £106.240 (2024: £91,761).
FUTURE PLANS
The Charity will continue to provide annual grants to both Welfare and Regimentsl Funds from an expected reasonable
income.

STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MAYAGEMENT
Organisational strutture
The Board of Trustees administ¢r the Charity. The Board meets once a year officially and covers Finance and Audit.
Additional meetings are held when necessari. The Regimen￿[ Secretary manages the day to day operation of the Charity. To
facilitate efyicient management of the organis*ion the Regiment￿ Se¢rewy h&s delegatsj authority, within limits set by the
Trust¢es, for matters including finan¢e, public relations and anploym¢nL

b. There is one full-time paid member of staff. The salary costs were shared between Royal Tank Regiment Benevolent

resources in the evenl of adverse conditions. The Trullees have also examined oiher operational and business risks faced by
the Charity and ¢onfiTm that they have established systems to mitigate the significant risks.

The RTR Events Fund represents amounts which will wvej major events attended by the serving Regiment and
veterans. This was fornierly known as the Spxcial Dinner Fund.
The Pl￿Ure Fund represents a fund for the purchase of major works of an and the commission of portraits of
Royal Tank Regiment Officers.
The Cambrai Fund represents amounts which had been pui aside to celebrate this ￿niverSary every five years. The
event last took place in the year ended 31 MaTch 20?3.
The Officers, Dinner Fund is an amount w asi(k for an eveni.
The Tom Welch Fund represents a beque￿ for explorntion. education and personal growth for Officers and
Other Ranks of the Regiment.
The 31 fund repre%nts a Sum of money re¢¢ived from a better than expected wfomian¢¢ on an investment many
years ago. This money was set &sid¢ by trustees in prior years but has been transferred to the general fund in the
y¢ar ended 31 Ma￿h 2025.
Restricted fimds ¢omprise the Rupert Brookshaw Sp)rtin8 Fund whith represents restricted capital. Th¢ fund is
dedieated to sporting activity for a youn8 RTR officer.
