Develop safe cycling and cycle routes. Promote cycling for social and physical well-being. Advise local authorities on matters relating to cycling. Research relating to cycle use. Education and support of cycle users
Objects: 1) To Advance The Education Of The Public In Road Safety And The Safe Use Of Bicycles And To Preserve Their Health, Safety And Well Being Particularly By: A) Investigating Routes On And Off Highway That Can Be Recommended As Safe Cycling Routes And By Identifying Measures To Alleviate Particular Locations Of Danger To Cyclists. B) Publicising And Disseminating The Results Of Such Investigations. 2) To Provide Bicycles And Related Facilities And Advice In The Interests Of Social Welfare For The Recreation Of The Inhabitants Of, And Visitors To, Somerset Who Are In Need Of Such Facilities By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Disablement, Poverty Or Social Or Economic Circumstances With The Object Of Improving Their Conditions Of Life. 3) To Relieve And Rehabilitate Persons Who Have Suffered From Psychiatric Illness Or Physical Or Mental Disablement Or Social Or Economic Disadvantage By The Provision Of A Workshop.4) The Promotion Of Community Participation In Healthy Recreation In Particular By The Provision Of Facilities For Cycling
