## **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**

The main objective of Hooe Primary Academy PTA is to raise money, via fundraising events. The money raised is then given back into Hooe Primary Academy in a manner that will benefit the widest possible range of children attending the school. The focus for this academic year has primarily been to raise enough funds to replace the playground equipment in the bottom playground.

All the activities and events over this academic year were to raise the remaining funds to replace the playground equipment. The previous quote we had been given of £26,500 rose to £28,300 due to the increased costs for materials.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

Many of the previous annual fundraising events such as school discos, Halloween pumpkin competition and sponsored events took place again this year. Alongside this we held an incredibly successful crowdfunding appeal and a community silent auction. Regular tuckshops also provided a fundraising opportunity this year. Finally, alongside the fundraising events, bids and grants continued to be sought from a wide range of businesses. We were fortunate enough to receive contributions towards the play equipment from Asda’s Green Tokens, WPA Healthcare, Police Crime Fund and POP The Social Change.

Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

This academic year had the sole focus on fundraising the total amount to replace the school playground equipment which was over 20 years old and approaching being totally condemned.

A wide variety of fundraising events were help during the year including a successful CrowdFunder appeal and a silent auction, both which helped to raise a substantial amount towards the amount required.

Alongside this, donations were received from a range of organisations which also helped to achieve the final amount required.

We are very proud of what we achieved in such a short amount of time.
