The main purpose of the Charity is to
provide high quality child play, learning

the residents of Bancffosfelen and the
surrounding villages and to support the
children and parents in the child's
development through the medium of the
Welsh language to make a smooth
progression into school life.

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements
of the charity, identifying the
difference the charity’s work has
made to the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider benefits
to society as a whole.
A warm welcome was extended
to everyone attending the AGM of
Cylch Meithrin Bancfosfelen.
Another year has passed, with a
signifcant change to the Cylch’s
location within the school. Due to
the school’s Health and Safety
requirements, the Cylch had to
move from the Main Hall to the
staf room. This was a sudden
and unavoidable change.
Sincere thanks were given to Mr
Gullick, Amy, and Sandy for all
their work in moving and
re-establishing the setting at
short notice. All parents were
informed of the situation. As a
result of the smaller room, the
Cylch has had to make the
decision to accept fewer children
each day. Additionally, the Cylch
will no longer be inspected by
Estyn.
It was acknowledged once again
that the past year has been
extremely challenging. Staf were
praised for maintaining high
standards and providing excellent
care for the children. Thanks
were extended to everyone.
There has been considerable
work throughout the year,
including the departure of Sian as
Leader. She was thanked for her
service, and a smallpartywas

held at the Cylch to wish her well for the future. Warm congratulations were given to Amy, who has stepped into the role of Leader. Amy has been a loyal member of staff as an Assistant and is looking forward to the new challenge. Child numbers remain stable, although a small increase would be helpful. A continuing issue is that some children attend Cylch Bancffosfelen but then move on to the neighbouring primary school in Pontyberem. We have been promoting a range of skills such as numeracy, oracy, - listening, mark making, writing, questioning, communication, ICT, - sharing and problem solving. We have fundraised via • Clothes recycling – Bags2School • Sports Day  Christmas Fair • Grand Raffle All staff are required to continue improving the quality of - - day to day provision. Support will be provided by the Athrawes Fro (CSG) through the improvement plan, as well as by the Mudiad Meithrin development officer The Cylch was fortunate to receive a grant from Mudiad Meithrin and the Sustainability Fund. Finances remain very tight, with

almost all income being spent on staffing costs. Parents must be reminded of any outstanding - fees, and follow up is needed where payments are overdue.
