Hucclecote Playgroup Trustee Report Year ending 31[st] August 2025
Trustees on 31st August 2025 Chair: Pamela Ostle Secretary: Kim Price Treasurer: Katy Henderson Committee members: Nicky Henderson, Dayle Francis, Sarah Larner, Lindsey Dowding
Committee members are recruited mainly from within the parents/carers of the children at the playgroup. Committee members are voted on at the AGM and then they complete an Enhanced DBS check and Ofsted registration.
Hucclecote Playgroup exists to provide childcare to children aged 2.5 to 5 years. It is managed by a Playleader and 3 other childcare workers. We also employ a financial administrator. Hucclecote Playgroup aims to prepare children for school and to give them an enjoyable time of learning through play away from their home environment.
Hucclecote Playgroup serves the community in which it is situated and anyone else who wishes to send their children to us. We are a non-profit organisation and as such any money made is spent on the playgroup. We have reserves in order to pay for redundancy. We receive money though the government funding for children and also through fees. We also fund raise through events such as sponsored bike ride, Christmas party, colouring competitions and quizzes. The majority of our money is spent on sta^ wages, rent and resources such as food and cleaning materials. We also buy resources for the children such as toys and craft materials.
The children enjoy being at playgroup and make good developmental progress. Children have access to a large, enclosed garden on site. Playgroup always seeks to prepare the pre-school children for school, ending the year with a graduation ceremony. Most of our children attend with the expectation they will attend the school on which we are on the site of.
Hucclecote Playgroup serves the community well in providing high quality childcare in a desirable location on the site of an infants and junior school.
