October 2022 ## AGM Cylch Meithrin Llanfechell 2022 ## Chairman’s report We have had a busy year again. We have settled into the Community Rooms and the rooms continue to be ‘lent’ to us under annual licence. The school has provided the Facilities Maintenance and we continue to adopt the school rules on Health, Safety, Fire. This year has also provided a number of improvements to the buildings and the Community Council provided lovely new flooring, whilst the school have supported us wholeheartedly and recently provided us a fabulous wall mural outside. We are very grateful for all the encouragement, support and joint working. The number of children we have as of October 2022: 11 children registered for Cylch; we are registered to take up to 18 children per session dependent on staffing ratios. We remain registered as a provider under ‘30 hours scheme’. Currently ‘30 hours scheme’ pays £5/hour, we have 3 children currently registered. We have again been substantially supported in the last year with Grants/ financial support/ fundraising 2022 - Anglesey Charitable Trust via Community Council – decking, windows and painting (awarded May 21 and completed in July 2022) including internal update with new window blinds and re allocation of internal rooms. -Anglesey Charitable Association – development of play area including sun canopies, play sheds, outdoor toys and clearing of old trugs and expanding the hard play area. We also we lucky to get a grant for shelving and storage facilities for the internal storeroom and the external container. This enables the staff to rotate play / toys depending on themes and children’s requirements and supports delivery of the new curriculum. -We have a three grant awards awarded to us and yet to be spent, from Ysgellog wind farm fund, Llanfechell Community Council and Cymdeithas Llanfechell which will support us to appoint an Apprentice in Spring 2023 – the Apprentice will undertake an eighteen month employment contract with us, whilst learning with Mudiad Meithrin to qualify with an National Vocational Qualification at level Three. We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s support with this project. - We have continued to apply for financial support from other bodies and fundraised through a range of activities such as - raffles, tombolas and ticketed events. ## Stafng Staffing - Leader – Sioned Jones - level 5 qualified – responsible for day-to-day operations and management of Cylch and staff, meeting CIW and ESTYN requirements and meeting October 2022 Mudiad Meithrin Aims and Objectives. Assistant Anwen Parry and Assistant Sharon Williams– are level 3 qualified and we thank all staff for their continued hard work. We have introduced a new volunteer scheme this year, which lead by Sally Thomas, has proved a great success offering opportunities for parents and family members to get involved in the sessions at Cylch. - We have managed our financial obligations this year and we end the AGM year with a surplus, which continues to support our ‘financial dry’ session through Autumn and into Winter and provides a small buffer to reduce our financial anxiety. We have used Facebook for the majority of our communications, sharing notices, information and activities, we have agreed and contributed to a variety of super window displays in the Caffi, and we have had Art /Craft competitions that have had sponsored prizes along with art displays in Church too. The Commitee and myself would like to say a huge thanks to Michelle for all her support and hard work – we will all miss you. I would also like to thank to all supporters past and present in supporting the Cylch to gain momentum and strength. We do not have any elected new Committee members this year. However, as we are required to become a Charitable Independent Organisation, where all Committee members will become Trustees of the newly formed CIO, we will be nominating and electing a Deputy Chairperson to support myself where necessary. We would not be able to run Cylch Meithrin Llanfechell without the continued support from all our volunteers, our staff and parents, who daily go the extra mile to keep us prospering and improving.
