The Trust is governed by a constilutKJn adopted on 24 November 1995. New Trustees are appoinlod
by the Trustees who curronlly hold office.
The maln aim of this playgroup is to provide a childcare provision where children can learn and be
nurtured in a safe environment. Al monies fundraised are reinvesled into the playgr(MJP for the
children's benefit.
Hgre is a year with a drfference.......
The Autumn term bwght us some lovely new members lo Playgroup arKI welcomed back our
Caterpillars who had grown over the summer inlo beautiful Buttertlies.
We said goodbye lo Mlss Tombs at the end of the s(thrJ)I tem in July. She was spreadlng her wings
lo a bigger nursery in Chettenham. Luckily for us 'Nan' still came to visrt for her gardening spot once a
week. Mlss Tombs will be missed. bul as ever the rest of the team has adjusted and c8rrSed on wSlh
great professionalism. Due to the child nurnbers being low we decided to keep slaff numbers as is for
the time belng.
We had a suc¢e5sful Summer BBQ which raised £383.00. followed by a great Xmas Wreath Making
Evening an¢J Raffle. This bought in £330.00 of much needed funds. A great night was had by all and
a big thank you lo Mrs Roscoe, Miss Tombs and Nan for all their help in organising it.
It was lovely lo welcome Hool Owls Foresl sch￿)1 into Playgroup. The children have loved this aclimty
being outside doing craft things and toasting marshmallows over a fire pil washed down with hot
chocolate. The Music Man was Still very much vi5its.ng us too which is ahvays fun.
Come the New Year of 2020 we were hit wth the CoronaviTUS. We were fOr￿d lo shut down by the
Govemment on March 20tr 2020 for a peri¢yJ of aboLrt 2 n￿nths. During this time. we fvjrfoughed most
staff apart from Mr5 Dinwoodie who wa5 busy trying to save money where we could. Mr5 Hayman
started off being furloughed but it srxin became clear that she need￿1 to keep up to date with the ever-
changing rules and regulations which seem to differ every day.
Mrs Rodrigues was due back from Maternity Leave In January 2020 but deaded that she loved being
a parent so much she was going to enjoy her litlle girl Savannah. Thi5 fitted in well Tmth lockdown.
meanwhile Sally had a past staff member waiting in the wngs. CLqre Roadknight, who was happy to
come back and work for us when we opened again.

As the current committee are ending their time al St Mary's. we will be advertising for a new sel of
parents lo become involved. This may be a little trickier with COVIt>19 around but with the use of
technology we can work this out.
11 just leaves me to say a huge thank you to Sally and her leam for an amazing job that th8y hav8 done

Another mindftjl year for us wlh regards to mney. Numbers for the children were al an ac￿ptable
level bLJt no way near as good a5 what we have been used to. We requested Ihe credit on our HMRC
account lo be refunded lo us1£1,186.001 and we had lo transler £5.1)00 from our saving account lo
help the current account out heading into the new term, September 2019.
Fund raising w8S 8 big help. We ralsed over £7￿.￿ which was put towards new toys for Ihe children
bolh inslde and outside.
Maintenanc8 was down to a minimum again Ihis year. The Brotherh¢)od very kindly paid ft)r the front
d￿rS lo be repaired and repainted in our signature red giving the hall a very grand k)ok.
We dosed our doors on 201h March 2020 due to the Pandemic and re-opened on the 8th of June 2020.
During this lime Mrs Dinwoodie assessed all out goings lo see where we could save money. our
landlord very kindly said that we could lake a break from paying the rent on the hall we used. Thls
Was a blg help. We furloughed stsff where neede(l. The figures for thls year do not reflect a 'normal'
year due to the lockdown but by the time our financial year ended we had a made a loss of £7.949.99.
As ever, we are very aware of the business we are in wrth regards to chlldren numbers fluctuating and
now a pandemic. Going lorward we know that il will be a challenging lime with finan￿. bul every
declslon made is made cautiously and for the g¢)od of St Mary's Playgrwp.

period ended 31 May 2020.
As the Charity's trustees. you are responsible for Ihe preparatl¢m of the accounts in accordance with
the requirements of the Charitles Act 2011 llhe Acri.
I report in respect of my examination of the Tnjsl's accounts caryied out under sectson 145 of the 2011
Act and in carrylng out my examination. I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the
Charity Commission under sectKJn 145151{bl of the ACL
Independent Examinerfs Statement
I have eompleled my examination. I confimi that no malerial matters have come lo my attentlon In
connection with the examinallon which gives m& cause lo believe that in, any materfal respect..
the accounting recofds were not kept in a￿rdance with secb.on 130 of the Charrties Act; or
the accounts did not accord with the accounling records- or
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements conceming Ihe form and conlenl
of accounts sel out in the Charities (Accounls and Reports) Regulations 2CN)8 other than any
requirement that the acwints give a 'lrue and fair, view which is not a matter consldered as
part of an independent examina150n.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
whlch attention should be drawn in this rep￿ in ordw to ena￿e a proper understsnding of the
