## **(A) Chairman’s Report**

وﻣن ﺗﺑﻌﮭم ﺑﺈﺣﺳﺎن إﻟﻰ ﯾوم اﻟدﯾن ﻰ ﻣﺣﻣد وﻋﻠﻰ آﻟﮫ وﺻﺣﺑﮫﺑﺳم ﷲ اﻟرﺣﻣن اﻟرﺣﯾم اﻟﺣﻣدُ =ِ رَ بﱠ اﻵﻟﻣﯾن اﻟﺻﱠﻼةُ واﻟﺳﱠﻼمُ ﻋﻠ _In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, All Praise and Thanks be to the Lord of Mankind, Jinn and all that exists. May the Blessings and Peace of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, His Noble family, companions and all who follow them on the path of righteousness until the end of time._

Honourable Imam, and Respected Brothers and Sisters, Assalamu ‘Alaykum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakaatuh.

All that we have achieved and what we’ve tried to achieve was entirely and solely due to the Mercy and Favour of Almighty Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ). We pray that what we did was for His sake alone.

Alhamdulillah (All Praise be to Allah), following the CORONAVIRUS Pandemic we managed to reopen for Jumm’ah prayers in July 2020. This has been a diffibult time for people around the globe, we have however have attempted to run the centre to the best of our ability in spite of the unprecedented climate. It was immensely difficult to remain closed particularly during Ramadaan and Eid-ul-Fitr, and we thank everyone for the continued co-operation and support to have been able to reopen for Eid-ul-Adha prayers for the congregation. We pray that this disease leaves our communities and those who have been afflicted remain steadfast upon their faith.

After Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ) we continue to give special acknowledgement and extend sincere appreciation to our honourable and beloved Imam Shaikh, Dr. Abdul Kareem Awad whose contributions are beyond our recognition. He has continuously given us invaluable support in running the masjid. Though regrettably we have not been able to give him his due right, we humbly ask Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ) to grant him Tawfeeq and let him continue to impart his immense knowledge and wisdom to this community for many more years to come. Ameen!

We also highly appreciate the contribution made by the Holding Trustees and all other members of the community. We ask Almighty Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ) to bless and reward everyone, in this life and in the Hereafter. Ameen!

Finally, we again thank Almighty Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ) who willed all to happen. We pray to Him to accept all our humble efforts, deeds and forgive us all for our shortcomings. If we did anything correctly that is from Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ) alone, and if we did anything wrong that is from ourselves.

We hope to continue to work with the community and encourage all brothers and sisters to be actively involved in each and every activity of Rhyl Masjid and Cultural Centre once by the Grace of Allah we are able re-start activities at the centre. We pray to Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ) to grant us ability to live in peace and keep us united.

Jazakum Allah kul Khair.

## **(B) Secretary’s Report**

The work which was carried out during the period of June 2020 – June 2021 was performed by the Grace of Almighty Allah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﮫ وﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ). Alhamdulillah there were a lot of people who actively participated in helping make the work smooth and easy. Jazaakum Allah khair to all for their advice, support and ongoing contribution to the masjid.

## **Duties June 2020 – June 2021**

The following is a list of duties carried out by myself and my team during the last year:

- _Charity Trustee’s Meetings -_ Regular meetings were have continues to hold virtually by Charity Trustees every quarter in order to discuss relevant issues pertaining to the Masjid, its activities and recent events.

- _Assisting the Imam –_ Due to the pandemic, there have not as many marriages or other community gatherings. We have made effort to resume all activities as safely as possible in accordance to COVID related guidelines and as per the Centre’s up to date risk assessments. All of which, have been assisted by the Secretary and Assistant Secretary as well as other members from amongst the Trustees.

- _Community Liaison -_ Throughout the year there were several correspondences with the community, in particular the North Wales Police and church members. Face to face visits however had to be reduced, due to the pandemic.

## **(C) Treasurer & Vice Treasurer’s Report**

The Treasurer and Vice Treasurer would like thank members of the community for their continued generosity and support in running The Rhyl Masjid & Cultural Centre and would like to mention following points about the past year activities:

Jazaakum Allaah Khair. With the donation from community members (from Friday/Eid collections and standing orders etc). The Trustees have managed to bear the day to day expenses of running the Masjid, including:

- Ø Rates & Insurance

- Ø Light and heat

- Ø Cleaning

- Ø Repairs and maintenance

- Ø Telephone

- Ø Legal and professional fees

- Ø Insurance

- Ø Accountancy

- Ø Bank charges

- Ø Travelling and Subsistence

- Ø Sundry expenses

- Ø Minor refurbishment

The Masjid relies totally on donations from within the community and therefore we would like to thank all brothers and sisters who set up standing orders for the Masjid so that the Trustees can better manage the masjid affairs.

Alhamdulillah Initiatives were taken to reduce gas and electricity costs by switching to a cheaper supplier and by paying the bills through direct debit.

## **(D) Education Report**

- Islamic & Qur’anic Studies Lessons have resumed from July 2020 onwards Alhamdulillah Which were held Most Thursdays (7pm) for Adults and Most Weekends (Saturdays and Sunday 11.30am till 2.00pm) for children aged between 6 and above.

- Adults are taught by the Imam, Shaikh Dr. Awad and the Children’s classes are run and taught by those appointed by him.

## **(E) Da’wah Report**

We were unable to take part in the Open Day and other Visits to the Masjid and Cultural Centre due to the pandemic.

_New Muslims -_ For new Muslim brother’s and sister’s educational adult classes have been running online classes so that they can learn and practice their religion adequately. During these sessions, they would have the opportunity to ask questions and seek assistance should they need to do so.

## **(F) Future Activities and Action Plan**

- _Funding -_ Trustees will try to obtain funding from different sources, in order to maintain the costs of running the centre.

- Risk assessments and adequate measures continue to be put in place so that all members and attendees of the centre are safe.
