rescue from the beach
(b) To promote the safety of all beach and water
activities
(c) To develop and promote surf life saving
methods which include all
aspects of first aid and water rescues
(d) To offer coaching and support for surf life
saving competitions
(e) To work as closely as possible with other
organisations or bodies
whose work has similar objectives to the Club
(f) To comply with the requirements set by the
Surf Life Saving
Association of Great Britain, and officially adopt
the Child protection
and Safeguarding policies provided by Surf Life
Saving Great Britain
(g) To ensure a duty of care to all members of

activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Our main aims can easily be separated into 2
sectors
1) Life Saving skills - All of our members receive
up-to-date first aid training, ranging from basic
life support like CPR and treating burns, across
the board to protocols for incidents involving
Oxygen, defibrillators and spinal boards. These
skills are channelled through our members in
fun training that is geared around the beach
lifeguarding culture to prepare everyone to be
ambassadors for beach safety and
awareness...regardless of age.
2) Competition - Because of our close links to
surf life saving there is a requirement for all
members to maintain, or develop, a level of
fitness throughphysical trainingto be safe in the
sea and promote healthy living. Many members
who particularly enjoy, or excel, in this area will
be actively encouraged to represent the club in
competition; be it on a local or national level.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 Guidance on public benefit issued by Charity
Commission is reviewed at meetings when
planning activities for year.

charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a

balance as members progress through the Club
structure.
We have increased focus on training, both child

to a more structured approach to sessions and
greater benefit for participants.
Another cohort of Lifeguards has been
successfully trained, and several of our alumni
are now working for the RNLI.
