## **Annual Report of the Trustees**

The Trustees present their report, together with accounts of All Saints and St Mary’s Charity for the year ended 31 December 2023. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the charity’s trust deed and applicable laws.

## **Structure, governance and management**

The charity is a trust constituted under a trust deed dated 4[th] April 1996. New trustees are appointed by the existing trustees.

## **Objectives and Activities**

The objectives of the charity are as follows:

1. The advancement of the Christian religion in the Parish of Crondall and Ewshot (“the Parish”);

2. The preservation and maintenance of the fabric and contents of the two churches and the Church

Rooms in the Parish;

3. The maintenance and support of the ordained Clergy in the Parish;

4. The provision of funds to PCC for charitable work within the Parish.

In order to fulfil the charity’s objectives, the charity provides financial support to the Parish, usually at the request of the Parochial Church Council. The trustees have unrestricted powers of investment over trust funds in order to carry out the charity’s objectives. They also have the option to delegate the power of investment to any person or body corporate as they see fit. In making decisions to carry out the charities aims and objectives, the trustees have not had regard to the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance.

## **Achievements and Performance**

During the year the All Saints and St Mary’s Charity raised funds for the building of an extension to the West End of All Saints to provide much needed WC facilities and additional storage. The ‘grand opening’ of the facilities took place on 21[st] January 2024 following a service by Bishop Paul of Dorking.

## **Financial Review**

During the year, the charity’s income was £180110 including Gift Aid and VAT Reclaim. Expenditure was

- £169277. The Charity made a reclaim for Gift Aid of £8438 and VAT reclaim of £26883. As of 31[st] December 2023 year end the charity held £115800 in unrestricted funds. Trustees do not have a formal policy in

- respect of reserves and consider that the current level may be adequate, considering the charity’s need for future liquidity and the potential range of projects it has been asked to support.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of All Saints and St Mary’s Charity**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the Receipts and Payments Account of the Charity for the year ended 31[st] December 2023 and Statement of Assets at that date, signed on behalf of the trustees on 10[th] February 2024 (“the accounts”).

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent Examiner’s statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect (1) accounting records were not kept by the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or (2) the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
