Valley Brass Main Band
The hi9hest musical group within our charity. Containing 29 musicians
with 8 over age of 25 and the rest uThJer this a9e with the majority
being under 20 years. Thts is the main tundraising ensemble and therefore
provides nearly 1 lJ)% of the financial sUP￿rt for the 9roups listed below.
The group rehearses twice a week and appears at 3 festlvalslcompetitions
each year. They atso perform at appfoximately 20 corKerts and
marches/camivals/walking daya as V￿11 as undertaking 30 Christmas Carol
collect>ons throu9h(Krt Decembef. The group a150 SOMÈ Èxtra
concert performances for charities in Merseyside (free of charge)
including the BBC RadFO Merseyside Carol Concèrt at either Cathedral in
Liverpool in aid ol Children In Need.

Lèarner Group Isaturday Music School)
The group meet eath Saturday and are laught by our volunteer tLrtors.
They also have regular days out and break times to promote social
activities and keep things fun. They would normally perform with our
training band at community fetes and threè concèrts organised by Vallley
Brass. In an area of low-income families this group Frfovides enrichment
lor children who would have limited acce55 lo music and a positive social
exP￿Ience which is affordable.
Adult Leamer5trraining Band
This group combines the improving leamers wrth adults vhKJ are leaming
to play a musical instrument from Scratch (aged up to 80 years of age}. As
prev¥)usly mentioned, tfry would Th)rmalty perform at community fetes
arNJ at three Valley Brass Concerts - our Christmas conce￿ Summer
Concert and Halloween CorKerL
School Bra55 Bands/Groups
Valley Brass sUN￿rt two high sckKK)I ban(ts - t)ixon'5 Academy in
Crt)xteth, Liverpool St Cuthberts in St Helens and three prirnary
school& Lyme Primary. Longton Lane Primary Sch￿1 and Legh Vale.
Valley Brass supports the educati￿ of music with provision of
instruments for their brass bands. We also provide I￿truTh￿ntS for brass
tuition for nÉY year seven pupils as part of their dass lessons at St

Communty Centre
I In 2013 Valley Brass took a 20-year lease on the fomier Richard Evans
School to use a5 a rehearsal centrÈ ¥KI provide facilities for local
community. This is on West End Rd in Haydoc
We oJrrentty have a number of groups who use the buildirvj ￿ well as the
Valley Brass Main Band. Our Centre is a base for a numbef of community
groups with large memberships a5 well as Valley Brass. Aduh Le3mefS
GfOUP - promoting music and instrumentsl ￿rfO[l￿anCe to adults who
have never played before - and Chtldren's Group. There is a Cfod*t dub
called UntaThJled - set up to support mental wellbeir•> are renowned
for public displays throughout Haydock. The NW Vetevans Corp of Dwms
- set up to pn)mote traditional mditary Fife Drums arKI help with
Veterans mèntal health.
Other clubs that regularly hire rooms at the centre br￿ LKJe: Bush Iki
Jujitsu club, Haydock Karate dub and a local Rock band.
We have SUPFM)rted these groups at certain times by providing very low
r(bom rentsls when they have been finarfially chalkn￿ed. This wi only be
done by the fundraisiTrJ xtivities of Vallèy Bras

Kirby Lonsdale contest was a 9ood experience for thern we are
