## Temple of Shalom Christian Church. **Annual Report** For the year ended 30th June 2021. ## **Introduction** Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. We thank the Lord for all His mercies towards us, for the grace imparted and the benefits received. I will say that the past year had been a year of consolidation and not a year of matching forward. The Covid-19 compounded an already difficult situation. Now the Covid-19 restrictions are over, we have to find answers to the problems that held us back so that we can move forward. I believe that as we order ourselves and discipline ourselves we shall better appreciate the blessings of God. We shall perceive them and make plans to possess that. We need to reach out and we need to reach forward. ## **Elders** There was, Rev Christian Aboagye in Gorton, five active Elders, Ishmael Conteh, Abi Janet Lamboi, in Gorton Branch, George Ahinakwah-Tetteh, in Openshaw Branch and Prince Agyemang and Isaac Opoku in Salford Branch. Elder Elizabeth Duah is no longer active, Pastor Oliver and his wife, Elder Doris Owusu, have officially left the church ## **Trustees** The Trustees were responsible for the general control and stewardship of the church's finances and assets. By the 30[th] June 2021 the following were the official members of the Trustees. Revd Dr Solomon S Aggrey Chairperson Rev Christian Aboagye Elder George Ahinakwa-Tetteh Treasurer Elder Isaac Opoku Secretary Mrs Hannah Lavelle Mrs Augustina James ## **Lockdown** The government’s lockdown continued in 2020 until 2021. The lockdown had been legislated by the government as a response to curb and prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. But thanks be God church meeting started in full in 2021. In 2020, Pastor Oliver and his wife, Elder Doris Owusu officially left Openshaw branch. We soon realised that it would be more beneficial for all the branches to worship together until the congregation improves. So both Openshaw branch and Salford branch joined Gorton branch under Pastor Christian Aboagye. Rev Solomon Aggrey, stepped back from normal church meetings to give way for Rev Christian Aboagye to lead the church. ## **Finances** In the year ending 30[th] June 2021, the total amount of our giving and other income was £31,227.50, far lower than the previous year. The total expenditure was £37,324.88. So there was a deficit balance of £6,097.38. The total amount brought forward was £69,273.39. The balance at the beginning of the church year was £63,176.01. This was also far lower than the previous year. The total balance represented the total income and expenditure for Gorton branch, Openshaw branch and Salford branch. The church account was balanced, examined and accepted. ## **Church Unity** In the spirit of unity all three branches of Gorton, Openshaw and Salford joined together for services and meetings in Gorton branch. It was encouraging to see the other branches together praying as one body. We looked toward to a day when the branches would be strong again to stand on their own feet and return to their communities. ## **Intercession And Church Choir** Since the three branches joined together, intercession had improved better than before. We still met on Friday evenings to pray. You could see that more people had become more energised and were participating. The church also enjoyed the ministry of other singers and worshippers from the other branches. ## **Conclusion** I thank all who worked hard and sacrificed both during the Covid-19 and after. And I thank God for His care and providence over the church. There was more opportunity than before to reach more people through the internet. We hope that the coming year will bring more fruits and our harvest be greater. Thanks and God bless you all.
