Achievements and performance continued
This year has been a year has been an unusual year as for certain months we were unable to use the build for Church or for our users, the building is owned by Runnymede Borough Council, close to Egham Railway Station. This continues to be our base for ministry and our point of access for the Community, making the Church more accessible and visible to the Community.
The Church, its trustees and leaders, have focussed on the Church being more accessible and visible on line and face to face, all activities are available on line and some activities are available face to face, so we have become more visible not only in Egham, but in Runnymede and beyond, a greater expression of Christ in our Community. We continue to look to and develop a longer-term plan for celebration, Church and ministry in the central Egham area and beyond, as we have grown the membership remotely through the period of constraint through the impact and limitations under COVID. We are also engaging with the Community in Egham and Runnymede Borough Council as the town's redevelopment continues into phases 2 and 3.
Our connections with other local Churches continue to grow stronger; we are working ever more closely with the International connections and liaise with Churches around the world through Lifelinks International. We are also working with Churches in Egham with projects such as East 2 West, The Besom and the Foodbank.
Internationally our primary areas of Mission are Uganda (through connections with Abba Fathers House), Nigeria and other Latin Speaking Nations. There have been no mission trips through this year because of limitations on travel. Our Latin group gathering every week facilitates a growing Spanish speaking faith community.
We further invested in our audio-visual equipment to raise the main room's functionality at Virginia Lodge, whilst also facilitating online Church around the world. Our online capabilities continue to grow as we reach across the globe through live streaming of services, online small groups and prayer meetings, the sharing of training materials and online sermon availability to mission partners worldwide. We currently have active members in the USA, Mexico, Hong Kong, Canada, South Africa, and Nigeria.
Connections into local institutions continue to develop into our local Schools Manorcroft Primary School and Royal Holloway University. We see a growing impact on international students as the population of our town becomes more global.
Future years continue to look challenging with the need for a response to the global pandemic. Still, we have been well prepared through further online investment for years of opportunity as we step into the second year of the leasehold of Virginia Lodge; and look at releasing new ministries and activities online and in the new location.
Yours in His Service

RUNNYMEDE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
Independent examiner's report on the unaudited accounts to the trustees of RUNNYMEDE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
I report on the accounts for the year to 31 March 2021 set out on pages 5 to 7.
Respective responsibilities of the trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under the Charities Act 2011 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the Act)
-
Follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act); and
-
State whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes a consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
have not been met; or
- 2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
