- Questions and comments from Members
John Travers thanked Pastor Rick and Karen for everything they have done so far. They have kick started Acts2 Church and it feels like an amazing Church family. Access to teas and coZees is great and adds to the family feel. Rick’s enthusiasm is amazing in everything he does. He gets pumped up and sweats passion!

Andy Rogers asked about Pastor Rick’s plans for getting our own building. Does he have a picture in his mind. God gave a detailed blueprint of the tabernacle and temple.
Rick replied: My vision is for a massive building, like a warehouse. It will be a building that could accommodate the youth, kids, a recording studio for the band, oZices, grounds and a car park. It might be a slow progression - God works in stages. We will trust in the Lord to lead us.
Bali Rodgers said she had really enjoyed listening to the other diverse speakers – Jaco and John Travers. So many people are good at sharing.
Rick replied: So many people are good at sharing. This helps as, at the moment, I am helping out with the Kids Ministry. Ivan has over 200 recording of sermons, video and audio can be made available.
There was a discussion about how this could be done, with suggestions that the video and audio could be shared on WhatsApp and YouTube. The notes from the sermons could also be shared on the Acts2 WhatsApp group. It would be good to be able to review them.
Madox Dumbaya said that Acts2 Community Church is a testament to Pastor Rick’s leadership style. His vision is about collaboration and empowering others.
Molly Irlam asked if the curtains in the kitchen could be closed during worship. It is very distracting when leading worship. She wondered if the curtains could be closed during worship and opened afterwards. Pastor Rick agreed to discuss the matter with the oversight team, but felt it was a good idea.
Melody Irlam intimidating. This opened up some lively discussion regarding prayer. With a suggestion of face-to-face prayer being held once a month. Bali, oZered Bizniz Point as a possible venue. Lily , (who has recently come on board to help lead prayer meetings), thought it might be worth changing the format of prayer as some people are exuberant and some quiet. People may like to come together for a quiet time and bring a reading. That way everyone would feel included. Another suggestion is prayer walking. Acts2 used to do this in Crayford and Dartford. Prayer is dropping back and needs to be revived. Rick said more people are needed to lead prayer. It is so much better when people meet together.
| There will be groups on: | Monday | Youth Bible Study and Band Practice |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | Bible Study | |
| Wednesday | Cell Groups | |
| Thursday | Prayer | |
| Friday | Youth Meeting | |
| Sunday | Service |
Gary thought life gets very busy and asked whether Youth and Prayer could both take place on Jess said it is hard to choose what to the same day – Friday. We need to be able to fit things in. do. However, Friday is the easiest day to combine these as there is no school in the morning. Rick agreed that it would be easier to drop the kids oZ and then do something else and collect them later. Clive asked if it might be possible to use a room at Wilmington while the Youth meeting is on.

Other Plans to bring to the Oversite Team:
Melody Irlam: There are seasons when we do diZerent things. She suggested arranging an occasional Sunday evening or afternoon worship meeting. This would focus on worship, like the Holy Spirit meeting we have had with Wilmington. Rick felt the Holy Spirit will jump at this and create a wonderful atmosphere. Rick is passionate about this and believes that we should bathe in the Holy Spirit at every chance.
John Gardiner felt that the people who live in Bean are not aware of Acts2 Church. We need to take the opportunity to evangelise in the area. Rick has plans for this and thinks that around August or September would be a good time to do this. Molly suggested that Prayer Walking would be a good way to do this. Karen W thought Saturdays would be the best day to do this. Mel said Molly has tracts that are easy to use. Rick felt that, with a bit of planning, preparation and training; we will be able to equip people with knowledge so that they are confident.
Rick location then and able to give people a fantastic experience.
Bali Rodgers : Is the £5,000 grant for Community Events only meant for Christmas? We could have a summer BBQ as well. She will send the specifications and terms and conditions of how we can use that money to Karen.
Melody Irlam: Bridget and I have been talking about hampers for low-income families. Karen W: Hampers could be given any time of year – not just at Christmas. Bali : The best chance for evangelism is via food. Molly: We could partner with Bean School to find out which families are in need. Melody: Hampers are ‘Love in a Box’. They could be taken to nursing homes on Valentine’s Day. Rick: If you took them for both the elderly people and the workers, you would influence the whole place. Melody: We can also take music into nursing homes.
Rick: Being able to discuss things like this is awesome. We should try to do this more often, perhaps every 3 or 4 months.
Molly Irlam: I am part of a group that takes worship into people’s homes in Erith. We could take this into areas of need.
Elijah Walker: asked what he could use to stop the fat on the breakfast bacon becoming jellified after it has been cooked. Do we need to change the tin foil to something else? Bridget: We need to make sure it is presented well. Bali: A tray would help to keep it hot, but not fatty.
Melody Irlam: We have two new groups that have not been shared on the main WhatsApp group. Please can these been advertised.
-
Training in sign language – either online or in group.
-
A singing group that is an extension of band practice.
Bali Rodgers: feels that the chairs are too low. Are they children’s chairs? Rick: replied that they are not small children’s chairs. They are low adult chairs. We are unable to replace these and there is no room to store chairs of our own. Angie: I always bring a couple of garden chairs in the boot of my car. Please let me know if you would like to borrow one.
Angie Ward: I have storage space available in my garage if it helps at all.
5
Clive Irlam: Is there another door we can use to gain access to the hall in the winter? We will want to keep the doors at the back of the hall closed to keep the heat in. Karen W: There is a
End of questions from members.
