The objectives and activities of the Charity
The Charity is a trust governed by its Constitution. The objects of the Charity ("the Objects") are for the benefit of the public: (a) to advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Statement in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time may think fit; (b) to relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind including through the provision of counselling and support in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time think fit; and (c) to advance education in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time may think fit.
Church Activity:
The meetings on Sundays and other days are designed to provide the congregation Christian worship, teaching, and discipleship to those who have a Christian faith and to introduce Christ to those in the community and look after the welfare of the congregation. These meetings are free of charge and are accessible to all nationalities, ethnicities and to those with or without faith.
Since the first lockdown in March 2020 and at various times into 2021 with restrictions the church broadcasted services through Youtube and Zoom and in person whenever restrictions were lifted. All constant communications were disseminated through Whatsapp and Facebook to encourage and to look after the welfare members and neighbors during the difficult times.
By the grace of God we were able to provide spiritual support and ensure the spiritual lives of the congregation kept growing during the challenging months in lockdown through these various technological tools. These online meetings reached many across the nation and around the world during the year 2021 and provided solace and deliverance to the attendees.

Youth Ministry- Revolution:
Belvedere Church has a vibrant group of young people from age 11 to 18 who attend the Youth meetings which is held on the 3rd Friday of every month without fail. When children start secondary school they start coming to the Youth meeting and every meeting is geared towards equipping the young people to cope with the challenges of secondary school and with the demands and pressures from peer groups. The platform of zoom was used to bring together children and young people and the varied features of zoom was used to create an atmosphere of openness and enjoyment.
Children’s Ministry- Kids for Christ (KFC):
Children from the age of 3 to 10 attend our children’s ministry. During the year 2021, we found creative and interactive ways to engage the young ones and make sure that the word of God was being taught to them through zoom services. We had online competitions and memory verse challenges to help them during the months when face to face meetings were not possible. We were also able to post Bible resources to them to keep them focused and involved in spiritual activities. We were able to involve them in special events like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day by using media and broadcasting the recordings on Youtube and Church services. This encouraged our children and it helped to build their confidence and creative abilities.
Ladies Ministry- Ladies for the Lord:
Through prayer meetings that took place through Zoom, we were able to encourage working women, young mothers and eldely women who were on their own during the pandemic and beyond. Grocery items were bought for single elderly women and all our women were supported individually by posting encouraging words and literature.
Project 5k:
During the year 2021, Under the guidance and initiative of Pastor Charles Francis and his wife Ann Francis, Project Five K was able to feed a number of struggling families with hot meals in our community around Belvedere, Erith and Thamesmead. A group of volunteers from Church ensured that on a weekly basis, food was cooked and supplied to the most needy and vulnerable families. Also food vouchers were provided for families who were most in need of the support.
Street Pastors:
The year 2021 continued to see the hand of God in the lives of the local people through the ministry of Street Pastors ( In partnership with Street Pastors UK ( Ascension Trust). The Street Pastors from BPC and other churches patrolled the streets of Bexleyheath from 10 PM to 4AM on Friday and Saturday to care for, listen to and help people who are out on the streets and responding to disturbances and safety. The local authority really appreciated the help that was given during the early hours of the morning.

Prison Ministry:
This is one of the ministries that the Church is very passionate about and ensures that the local prisoners are not forgotten. Sister Rowena Osmond represents the Church in partnership with Prison Fellowship and ensures that she takes literature, bibles and bible verses that helps to support and encourage prisoners in reforming and topics like Restorative Justice brings hope to the inmates. Services are held there and Sister Rowena keeps us updated with the situation in the prisons.
During the year 2021, generous financial assistance was extended to struggling communities and individuals across the globe. Examples of some major contributions include:
• Christain Resources in Bexley Schools (CRIBS):
-
Cribs delivers Religious Education in schools and supports the wider context of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development in schools.
-
Compassion UK:
In partnership with Compassion UK the members of our church financially sponsor 13 children in Philippines every month who are vulnerable due to poverty. It is a one-to-one child sponsorship model which our members are involved in personally to communicate with their sponsored children.
• Emmanuel Press:
Over the last many years the Church has been able to help the work of this organization, who work to develop ideas, edit and format manuscripts of Christian literature and study materials.
• Revelation TV:
The Revelation TV network is doing a tremendous work in the UK and we have been able to support their work by regular giving to ensure they are able to continue with their work.

• Faith School:
Although the initial application for a bid for a Faith School in Bexley was not successful, we continue to plan and the purposes have not been abandoned and will be pursued so that we are ready yet again to submit proposals when called for.
• Welfare Activities:
The Church and the members of the church had been able to financially support the most vulnerable and needy in the church and in the neighborhood during 2021. We were also able to provide groceries/food whenever the need was intimated to us.
Risk Management:
All major insurable risks are subject to normal Churches and Employers Insurance. From time-to-time reviews are made of areas of risk by the Trustees in conjunction with volunteer leaders responsible for the area of activity. The risk assessment for the Covid 19 period was done and all necessary actions were carried out by the Risk assessment team. As part of safety measures we made use of Fogger, Thermometers, Sanitizer dispensers, React-Air X which is a portable air sanitizer designed for use in hospital and care environments using unique UV-C light array with the powerful fans driving the airflow through the decontamination chamber, neutralizing bacteria, viruses, pollen and odours, delivering clean and sterile air to a room.
Church Building fund and Income:
Like 2020, the year 2021 was an exceedingly difficult year, however by the mercy of God we look forward to save towards a new church building.
