The objectives and activities of the Charity
The Charity is a trust governed by its Constitution. The objects of the Charity ("the Objects") are for the benefit of the public: (a) to advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Statement in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time may think fit; (b) to relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind including through the provision of counselling and support in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time think fit; and (c) to advance education in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time may think fit.
Church Activity:
The meetings on Sundays and other days are designed to provide the congregation Christian worship, teaching, and discipleship to those who have a Christian faith and to introduce Christ to those in the community and look after the welfare of the congregation. These meetings are free of charge and are accessible to all nationalities, ethnicities and to those with or without faith.
When the nation went into lockdown in March 2020, the leadership decided to broadcast services through You tube and Zoom apart from other social media tools like Facebook and Whatsapp.
By the grace of God we were able to provide spiritual support and ensure the spiritual lives of the congregation kept growing during the challenging months in lockdown through these various technological tools. These online meetings reached many across the nation and around the world during the last one year and provided solace and deliverance to the attendees.

Youth Ministry:
Since lockdown in March 2020, the youths came together through the platform of Zoom technology. Belvedere Youth Ministry were able to meet every month with an aim to nurture and support the young people in Church to face the challenges of the times. Each meeting revolved around a time of sharing experiences and Christian discipleship and preparing the young men and women to be reliable and trustworthy members of the community. The Youth were trained to deal with the challenging times and even though they were not able to meet, they had virtual social events and were able to keep their attitude and spirits high.
Children’s Ministry:
Our children’s ministry consists of children right from the age of 3 to 11. They progress into Youth activities as they start secondary school. Keeping in mind their online schooling and issues that could arise due to lack of social contact, the Church was able to give them a variety of opportunities to build their confidence and character even during the pandemic. Through online drama clubs, Zoom Bible studies every Thursday. Opportunities were given in the Sunday services to give testimonies and bring out their talents. Special children’s programs at Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Easter have enabled our children to keep their spirits, attitude and perspectives positive and progressive.
Project 5k:
Under the guidance and initiative of Pastor Charles Francis and his wife Ann Francis, they launched the Project 5k feeding program to help the most struggling with food in our community during the pandemic. Many organizations were contacted, and the response has been positive so far. Started supporting a school in Lewisham by providing food vouchers for the most struggling families.
Street Pastors:
In Partnership with Street Pastors UK (Ascension Trust) members of our church who are trained by Ascension Trust patrol in teams of men and women, usually from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, to care for, listen to and help people who are out on the streets. Street Pastors is about Christians rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in practically responding to the problems of crime and safety. However, during the lockdowns this ministry was suspended.
Prison Ministry:
In partnership with Prison Fellowship Sister Rowena, and at times some other members of our church are involved in this ministry which is a mission to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of imprisoned men, women, and youth – as well as their families – to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.

During the year, generous financial assistance was extended to communities and individuals across the globe. Examples of some major contributions include:
Christain Resources in Bexley Schools (CRIBS)
The church has regularly supported the work of CRIBS in schools in Bexley. Cribs delivers Religious Education in schools and supports the wider context of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development in schools.
Compassion UK

Over the last many years the Church has been able to help the work of this organization, who work to develop ideas, edit and format manuscripts of Christian literature and study materials.
Revelation TV
The Revelation TV network is doing a tremendous work in the UK and we have been able to support their work by regular giving to ensure they are able to continue with their work.
Missionary help to Peter Austin in Spain and Eldose Matthew in Midnapore, India
Peter Austin and his family, as well as Eldose who are working as missionaries in Spain and India respectively supported for the work they are doing there.
New Life Trust
We support the work of evangelism of this organization in UK, based in Leicester. Pastor Yan Hadley travels around the UK with the message of the cross and his various books are a source of great encouragement.
Faith School
Although the initial application for a bid for a Faith School in Bexley was not successful, the plan and purposes have not been abandoned and will be pursued after the lockdown.
Welfare Activities
The Church and the members of the church had been able to financially support the most vulnerable and needy in the church and in the

neighborhood during the Pandemic. We were also able to provide groceries/food whenever the need was intimated to us.
Risk Management:
All major insurable risks are subject to normal Churches and Employers Insurance. A new Fire alarm system was installed during the year. From time-to-time reviews are made of areas of risk by the Trustees in conjunction with volunteer leaders responsible for the area of activity. The risk assessment for the Covid 19 period was done and all necessary actions were carried out by the Risk assessment team. Apart from all safety measures be followed we had bought equipment such as Fogger, Thermometers, sanitizer dispensers, React-Air X which is a portable air sanitizer equipment designed for use in hospital and care environments using unique UV-C light array with the powerful fans driving the airflow through the decontamination chamber, neutralizing bacteria, viruses, pollen and odours, delivering clean and sterile air to a room.
Church Building fund and Income:
The year 2020 was an exceedingly difficult year, however by the mercy of God we were able to save towards a new church building or build one more floor above the existing church building and this is reflected in the financial report under the heading ‘Building fund savings’ which is £95,104. We pray and look forward to having sufficient funds to embark on this church building project.
The income for the year 2020 was £79,958.
The Board of Trustees expresses sincere thanks to all leaders, members, friends of Belvedere Pentecostal Church for their prayers, encouragement, assistance and contributions during the year.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Act and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
-
to follow the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act, and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
Independent examiner's statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect,:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
