Chairman’s Report
Introduction
This is the thirteenth year of producing a printed annual report for members in which we provide our reports, the accounts and look to the future.
It is important that we remember that we are currently more than three quarters through the financial year 1[st] April 2021 to 31[st] March 2022. This report deals solely with the events and activities of 1[st] April 2020 to 31[st] March 2021.
Overview
The overall continued objective has been towards building a stable structure for meetings and administration and the slow improvement of the building; together with the preparation for ongoing growth in the body of the church.
Preparation and prayer continue for Gods anointed new Minister to be appointed at Springs and the encouragement and vision they will bring. We need to encourage and provoke the church, that is individuals as well as us as a body, to become people who read and pray and develop that personal relationship with the Lord. We thank one and all who help out in so many different and varied ways, all equally important. We all continue to appreciate each other and thank those who support the varied activities needed to keep Gods church functioning.
Benefiting the Community
The Objects of the Charity are principally to the advancement of Christianity. This will be done by the declaration and upholding of the Gospel concerning God’s Son Jesus Christ the Lord and the preaching and teaching of the Word of God by the Church in accordance with the Statement of Faith of the Assemblies of God

in Great Britain as approved by the General Council from time to time. In addition, the objects allow the church to minister into key areas of our society and the world and therefore allow us to minister to the whole person for a complete answer to our societies needs as the Leadership lead and resources allow.

Chairman’s Report
In the ongoing work, we have continued throughout 2020 and into 2021 to hold a Sunday service where the full Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed, and
people are challenged to put their faith into action. Our obvious aim is to teach and train people of all ages from the Bible in ways that are relevant to their age and culture, to be obedient to God, provide positive input into their families and to be good citizens in our community.
A part of fulfilling our objectives is a commitment to missionary and social work overseas and in this country. For a small church we endeavour to serve our community well with street and residential outreach. Drop In has added to the services we offer our community. We support organisations that specialise in Bible centred teaching, work with ex-prisoners and people in the community. Our support is also given to those organisations that provide help with social problems and support people around the world whose lives have been devastated by natural disasters.

Chairman’s Report
Church Leadership and Management
While the structure for the church leadership development is now more detailed there are other areas that are still under development. The church council needs support and strengthening. Other areas that need further development will be practical as more people join the church.
Evangelism
While some of these events or activities are not for proclaiming the Gospel, they give opportunity for interaction with our community and the availability to answer questions.
Community Interaction helps break down some of the myths about Christians and the church. It allows our community to see the authenticity of our faith and the consistency of our lives.
Projects or Events Planned:
-
Developing the structure of the family service
-
Samaritans Purse Shoebox Appeal November 2021
-
Items for Social Oversea & Teaching Project
Building Development
-

Treasurers Report
Introduction
For the financial year ending 31[st] March 2021 our income was down and our expenditure was up; see Table 1. The total income for this financial year is decreased by £9,878, which is partly due closure of the church during COVID-19 and donations to the church, via PayPal being frozen. PayPal account issue has now been resolved and monies owed to the church have now been paid and will be reflected in the next financial year.
The total expenditure has increased by £2,838. The main increase in expenditure is due to the building work at the church.

INCOME EXPENDITURE
Church Tithe
The church council continues to tithe to Watoto a sum of £300 pa to sponsor a child.
Concerning the Future
Covid-19 has delayed our continuous process of renovating the church and has had impact on our ability to gather together. God has been good during these uncertain times and continues to provide for our needs. However, if you feel that God is leading you to help financially, either in general or on a specific project e.g. renovation, please feel free to contact our treasurer Sarah Cook.
I would like to encourage everyone to follow the Biblical principal of tithing, and those who pay tax to consider Gift Aiding their tithe , which means the Church receives about 25% back from the taxman. Also, an easier way to manage personal giving is to set up a monthly standing order to the Church. We will explore the facility to give online and to text a gift as our society moves towards not carrying money.
Finally, I would like to thank God for his faithfulness and each person who gave money faithfully to the work of this church in the financial year ending March 2021. I hope and pray that you will continue to support the work of this church this year through your financial contribution as well as other help.

Springs Youth
Meetings of the youth of Springs Christian Fellowship have mainly been online due to restrictions. Not being able to meet in person has been a struggle and the youth have kept in touch via WhatsApp and other social media.
We have met online to encourage one another, pray for each other and to do other fun activities like games. Since most of the youth are also part of the Springs Worship Team, this has been easier. The youth contributed to the Church’s online carol service through readings and a sketch.
Future plans: Now that the church is open to meet in person, we will resume face to face meetings and choose topics for study and continue to look at how the Word of God is relevant to our lives. We will look at ideas to make these meetings interesting and relevant. We will continue to encourage them to share their gifts and contribute to the ministry of the church.

Sunday School - Springs Kids
After last year’s relaunch of Springs Kids we continued into 2021. The desire is for Springs Kids to be a welcoming, exciting and safe place where children learn about and experience God's love, feel valued, are inspired and have loads of fun.
The target age for Springs Kids is 5-13 years old. Sessions are encouraged to be very interactive and for the children to enjoy sharing their views but not feel under pressure. The typical structure each week is for everyone to talk about their week, prayer, worship, bible study followed by games and quizzes. Superbook is one of our favourite teaching aides.
All teachers are DBS checked and the majority have attended Safeguarding training.
Due to the challenges of Covid Springs Kids could not always occur at the church but we have started providing sessions via Zoom.
A massive thanks to the teachers for their commitment and support for Springs kids.
Finally, we look forward to re-opening Springs Kids in the future to the wider community once all restrictions are removed and the necessary arrangements have been made.
If you would like to volunteer with helping out at Springs Kids please contact a member of the Church Council or the leadership.

Worship (Tash)
As a Church we are extremely blessed to have such a variety of worshipers and leaders providing a different style of music, leadership and sound that has the capacity to appeal to different ages ranges and cultures.
Most recently we have seen a very noticeable growth in the number of young people developing and taking an interest in the worship, notably Cedrick and Chris over the past year. The age range for our current team is between 18-30. I for one know the church is raising up some passionate and anointed leaders.
We encourage individuality within our group and love to incorporate the different cultures / nationalities in our Church, with us sometimes singing songs in a variety of languages.
Throughout the pandemic the Church used the Zoom platform to stream our weekly services. During this time, we used lyric videos from YouTube rather than live Worship for various reasons. Since returning to in-person services in summer 2021, the Worship team has been down to one group leading every Sunday, with some singers on rotation. This is because some members are still not comfortable attending physical services. We currently sing 3 songs, instead of our normal 5. This is because we’re reducing our
Springs Christian Fellowship Registered Charity Number 1054358
service time slightly in order to limit exposure due to the current pandemic situation.
Church Ministries
Worship (Tash)
During the first lockdown in 2020 we utilised the time and had our Worship platform renovated. This has given us a lot more space and has allowed for more organisation and placement of equipment. Grant did a great job of rewiring everything from the stage to the soundesk. Grant also continues to set up and run our soundboard every Sunday. We welcome anyone who might be interested in learning this in order to help him. The same goes with the projector which a member of the worship team also operates each week.
– Grant a massive thank you from all of us!
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is involved in the worship; from leading and playing to singing and operating our sound desk and projector. Preparing and taking part in the worship is a big responsibility and not something we take lightly. A lot of prayer, thought and practice goes in each time we worship with one another, so I want to express my appreciation for all your hard work and devotion and may we continue to praise and magnify the Lord together.
A huge thank you to the musicians for their faithful hard work and dedication.

Prayer
We believe that prayer is the backbone of the church. The aim of this area of ministry is to see the fulfilment of Isaiah 56
“For my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations”
2020/2021 has been a challenging year for the continuation of our prayer ministry at the church. We encourage you all to continue to pray at home and on Zoom and pray the situation will improve for 2021/2022!.
Under normal circumstances Prayer Times at the church are:
-
Tuesday 4:30 – 5:15
-
Sunday 6:00 – 7:00 this has gained strength and consistency and answers are being seen.
-
Additional Prayer before Sunday Service 9:45
-
Additional Prayer 6:30 am Monday morning
I encourage you all to be part of this vision bring your good ideas and let us advance the kingdom of our God.
Continue to pray for a new Pastor and that Gods chosen person will be delivered to us.

FaithBuilders
FaithBuilders has been running for nearly 8 years now. In normal times we meet once a fortnight and have from 6 to 12 people of all ages most weeks.
We like to start with a time of Praise and Worship led by Immanuel, and sometimes Isabel helps. Then we share Prayer needs and requests and spend some time praying for these and for one another. Following this our Bible Study lasts from 30 to 45 minutes, and then we finish off with a nice Supper!
However, the Government imposed Covid lockdowns resulted in us meeting on Zoom instead of our home. I have had to make a monthly payment to Zoom so that our meetings can last for more than 40 minutes, but we turned this into a weekly Event, majoring on Praise & Prayer one week, and then Praise and Bible Study the alternate week. Zoom still allows everyone to take part and one or two others have joined us since we turned to Zoom.
During a period when the lockdown restrictions were eased we went back to meeting at our house, but continued with Zoom as well so that those who have been joining us from a distance, or who preferred not to gather too closely, could continue to share with us.

Street (Open Air) and Residential Homes Outreach
We like to call it an Open Air and for 6 years now we've tried to be a group of Christians having a Gospel Service outdoors. We have our own printed Song book of over 50 Gospel hymns and choruses.
We all sing with Immanuel and myself on our guitars and Isabel on her saxophone, and normally some also hand out carefully selected tracts and leaflets, and look for opportunities to talk to passers-by and the folk who stop to listen to the singing. I link some of the songs together with short Bible verses and comments and we also offer to pray for folk.
The Outreach however was limited during the 12 months under consideration due to Government lockdown measures, and even on the occasions when we have managed to go out, we haven’t been able to hand out Tracts or Literature due to social distancing requirements and our own concerns as to the reactions of passers-by. So on most of the occasions when we’ve been able to go out we’ve restricted ourselves to singing, short Scripture readings and comments, and praying together for the Town.
Despite the difficulties quite a few people have still stopped to listen, and we’ve been amused as some have even taken their mobile phones out to film us while we’ve been singing!
There aren't many of us, but we enjoy it, and I am very proud of and grateful for everyone who helps, because it is a team effort that couldn't happen without such support.
Sadly the lockdown measures have meant that Springs has not been able to do its Residential Homes ministry during this period. We have greatly missed taking Services in the
Springs Christian Fellowship Registered Charity Number 1054358
Homes, especially at Easter and Christmas, and pray and hope that the situation will soon change for the better so that we can get back to doing what our Lord Jesus told us to do, just before He ascended into Heaven: Go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Eric Hallsworth

Drop In
Unfortunately Drop In has not been able to run for much of the year due to Covid restrictions but God willing we do plan to be back bigger and better in 2022!
We do need to create a safe environment for everyone to meet and to be able to welcome people.
We’re always pleased to see you and glad to receive any help you can provide – big or small.
Thanks!
