The Church Council is committed to enabling as many people as possible to worship at our church building and elsewhere and to become part of a lively Christian community based at New Life Pentecostal Church. The Church Council seeks to maintain a place of worship that is available as often as possible for prayer, teaching and counsel and seeks to involve other community groups in using the facilities available. Our services and worship put faith into practice through prayer and scripture, music and preaching.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects

When planning our activities for the year the Church Council have considered the Commission’s guidance on public benefit, and particularly the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. We try to enable ordinary people to live out their faith as part of our church community through:  Worship  Prayer

To facilitate this work, it is important that we maintain the fabric of the Church building so that meetings and activities can be run in a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

As in previous years we held a successful and enjoyable International Day at which we celebrated our cultural diversity and unity.

Our website (nlpc.org.uk) is kept up to date and has freely downloadable resources including sermons and Bible study notes.

Overseas mission support

During the year we have: Continued to sponsor the education and welfare of three children in Uganda.

Donated money to support a missionary couple in Southeast Asia.

We have continued to play our part in the local ecumenical partnership (Churches Together in Hemel Hempstead) and Pastor Joel has continued to be a member of its management committee.

We have again this year collected and donated goods to a local charity (DENS) that provides help and accommodation to homeless people and also provided food donations for the Dacorum Foodbank. We have also been able to distribute vouchers to enable people to receive emergency food parcels from the Foodbank.

Second year in a row, we reached out to our local community on Family Funday by providing food, games and activities
