FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025
The trustees present their annual report and financial ststements for the year ended 31 March 2025.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordan￿ with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the
financial statements and comply with the charity's governing document, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting
and Reporting by Charities- Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102).
(effective 1 January 2019).
Objectives and activities
Our aims remain the same as they have since 1982..
To provide support services to carers and those they care for.
To prowde high quality Gare for those in need.
- To maintain the "good standard" awarded by the Care Quality Commission.
- To seek and obtain new funding sources to sustain the service.
Public benefit
The trustees have paid du8 r8gard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in d8ciding what activities th8
charity should undertake.
Achievements and performance
Signlficant actlvities and achievements ag8inst objectlves
Dudley Crossroads still remains focussed primarily on respite care for carers and continued to offer some free
regular support to carers.
We also provide a service to elderly, isolated peoplè in th8ir own homes, assisting with Shopping. m&al preparation
and tssks around the home.
This year we have Increased our workforce by 1 part time staff to enable us to provide more of our valuable
services.
Financial review
Our carer support seNi¢e is funded by NHS Black Country Int8grated Care Board, donations and by any successful
bids. Talks with NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board have been successful and we have agreed on our
contract for this year. It is important to recognise their support over many years.
We are constantly exploring new avenues of funding opportunities.
We have been successful in some of our funding applications this year and would like to extend our thanks to the
following for the generous grants received.
Carnbrea Trust- £10,000
The Eveson Trust- £15,000
Woodloffe Benton- £1.750
Baron Davenport- £700
St James Place- £2,184
Many of our Carer Support clients top up their hours of respite by purchasing from us at a not for profit rate.
Pay scales were increased by 9.20/0 this year. We anticipate an increase of 6.20k in 202512026 in line with the Living
Wage increase.

Reserves policy
The designated reserve stands at £80,000, which is th8 amount consid8red equivalent to 13 working weeks
expenditure to Gover unforeseen financial difficulties that might otherwise impact directly on charitable activities. The
reserve is under regular review.
The charitable funds at 3151 March 2025 were as listed below.

Plans for future periods
We maintain our readin8SS to bid for funding opportunities as they arise and are currently building up a core numb8r
of privately funded clients.
The demand is greatly increasing for carer relief - we would love to be able to extend our service to reach more
informal carers.
Looking forward to 2025-2026, we expect to draw on our free reserves to help fund our service whilst we aclively
explore more funding str8ams.
Structure, governance and management
Th8 charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes a limited company, limited by
guarantee, as defin8d by the Companies Act 2006.
All the directors of the company are also trustees of the charity. The management committee meets on a regular
basis to manag8 the affairs of the company and to fomiulat8 policy. The management team organises th8 day-t
day running of the scheme, assisted by administrative stsff and care support workers.

Recruitment and appointment of trustees
Recruitment of trustees is achieved by publicity through appropriate channels, including direct enquiries. There is a
nominated board member to undertake training and induction.
Organisational structure
Dudley Crossroads is rated as 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission.
Staff undergo extensive Iraining inGluding safeguarding adults and children, health and safety, fire training. first aid,
infection control. confidentiality, food hygiene, radiGalisation, domestic abuse and training required by the Care
Quality Commission, Dud18y IHC and oth8rs.
All Carer Support staff hold Lavel 2 in Direct Care. All staff are Dignity Champions and Dementia Friends.

Remuneratlon policy
No trustee receives any remuneration, but all professional staff are fully paid, including a statutory pènsion scheme.
Other matters
The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate
controls are in place to provide reasonable assuran￿ against fraud and error.
The charity has purchased third party indemnty insurance for the trustees against liability arising from wrongful acts
in relation to the charity.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
TO THE TRUSTEES OF DUDLEY CROSSROADS
I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial ststements of Dudley Crossroads (the charity) for the year
ended 31 March 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity {and also its directors for the purposes of company lawl, you are responsible for the
preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.
Having satisfied myself that the financial statements of the charity are not required to be audited under Part 16 of
the Companies Act 2006 and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respecl of my examination of the
charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Ad 2011. In carrying out my examination
I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515)(b) of the Charities Act 2011.
Independent examiner's statement
Since the charity's gross income exceeded £250,000. the independent examiner must be a member of a body listed
in section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. 1 confimi that l am qualified to undertake the examination because l am
member ofAssiciation of Chart8r8d C8rtified Accountants, which is on8 of th8 list8d bodies.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the
examlnatlon glvlng me cause to believe thal in any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 386 of the Companies Act
2006.

the financial statements do not comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 of the Companies A
2006 other than any requlrement that the financial statements give a true and fair vi8w, which is not a matter
considered as part of an independent examination; or
the financial statements have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and princlples of the
statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and r8POrting by charities applicable to charltles
preparing their financial statements in accordance with the Financial RE:porting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ir81and (FRS 102).
I have no concerns and hav8 come across no other matters In connection with th8 examination to which attention
should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understsnding of the financial statements to be reached.

Charity infom)ation
Dudley Crossroads is a private company limited by guarantee incorporated in England and Wales. The
registered office is Unit 6, Watt House. The Innovation Centre. The Pensnett Estate. Kingswinford. West
Midlands, DY6 7YD. England.
1.1 AGcounting Gonvention
The financial ststements have been prepared in accordance with the charity's governing document. the
Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland. and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended
Practice applicable to charities prepartng their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by
FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantag8 of the provisions in the SORP for charities not to prepare a statement of
cash flows.
The financial ststements are prepared in sterling, which is the fvnctlonal currency of th8 charity. Mongtary
amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting
policies adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going concern
At the time of approving the financial statements, the trustees have a reasonable expectstlon that the charity
has adequate resourtss to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees
continue to adopt th8 going concern basls of accounting In preparlng th8 financial statements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their charitsble
objectives.
Restricted funds are subject to specffic conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the charity is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been met.
the amounts can be measured reliably. and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on re(*ipt. other donations are recognised On￿ the charity has been notified
of the donation. unless perfomiance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable in
relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or otheThYise if the charity has been notified of an impending distribution.
the amount is known. and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated as a
Gontingent asset.

1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure 15 recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit to a
third party, it is probable that a transfer of econornic benefiis wi51 be required in settlement, and the amount of
the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expendi(ure is Glassified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct Costs and
shared costs, including support Gosts involved in undertaking each activity. Where costs cannot be directly
attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of
resources.
1.6 Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuation, net of
depreciation and any Impairment losses.
Depreciation is recognised so as to write off th8 Cost or valuation of ass8ts18SS th8ir r8sidual values over their
useful lives on the following bases:

The galn or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference between the sale proceeds
and the carrying value of the asset, and is recognised in the statement of financial activities.
1.7 Impairment of flxed assets
At each reporting end date, the charity reviews the carrying amounts of Its tangible assets to detemiine
whether there is any indication that those assets have suffered an impairm8nt loss. If any such indication
exists, the recoverable amount of the asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment
loss (if any).
1.8 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand. deposits held at call with banks, other short-temi liquid
investments wilh original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown
within borrowings in current liabilities.
Baslc financial assets
Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initialty measured at
transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amortised cost using the effective
interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is
measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets
Glassified as receivable within one year are not amortised.
Basic financial liabilities
Basic financial liabilities, including creditors and bank loans are initially recognised at transaction price unless
the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the present
value of the future payments discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial liabilities classified as payable
wilhin one year are not amortised.
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of
operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities if payment is due within on8
year or less. If not, they are presented as non-currant liabilities. Trade creditors are recognised initially at
transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.

Derecognltlon of flnanclal liabllities
Financial liabilities are derecognised when the charty's contradual obligations expire or are dlscharged or
cancelled.
1.9 Employee beneffts
The cost of any unused hollday entitlement Is recognised in the period in which the employee's servlces are
received.
Termination benefits are recognised immediately as an expense when the charity is demonstrably committed
to terminate the employment of an employee or to provide termination benefits.
1.10 Retlrement benefits
Payments to defined contribution retirement benefrt schemes are charged as an expense as they fall due.
1.11 Leases
Rentals payable under operating leases, including any lease incentives recelved. are charged as an expense
on a straight line basis over the term of the relevant lease.

The charity operates a defined Gontribution pension scheme for all qualifying employees. The assets of the
scheme are held separately from those of the tharity in an independently administered fund.

The unrestricted funds of the charity comprise the unexpended balance5 of donations and grants which ar8
not subject to specific conditions by donors and grantors as to how they may be used. These include
designated funds which have been set aside out of unrestricted funds by the trustees for specific purposes.
