Trustees Annual Report 2021
Gravesham Sports Trust continues to meet on a regular basis to review the management and up keep of the Astro Turf Pitch in the Borough of Gravesham.
The pitch continues to be hired out to a variety of different users, including the three ‘home’ hockey clubs, the local Grammar school, numerous football clubs (for training purposes) and also for community events and one off uses.
Due to the Pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns / restrictions the pitch has remained closed for a significant part of the year. This has had an impact on revenue sourced from hire income, but thankfully we were able to access the Local Authority Grants to cover the shortfall.
During the year we were able to install new spectator fencing along one side of the pitch, making it a safe environment for spectators to watch. It’s been great to see more families bring their youngsters along to watch their ‘mum or dad’ play – thus highlighting the important role the pitch has for the wider community.
