The trustees shall hold the trust fund and its income upon trust to apply them for the following objects in Ryedale: To advance the education of the public in the arts and in particular in the art of drama

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects:

This year 60 young people took part in the Easter production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was performed at the Milton Rooms, Malton from 9th - 12™ April. There were 6 performances attended by the public from Ryedale and the surrounding area.

The charity is dependent on fundraising throughout the year to help towards the cost of running its annual Easter production. Funds are also accrued from ticket sales, advertisers, friends and members’ subscriptions. We rely ona vast amount of voluntary help.

In 2016 we were honoured to receive the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award given to local groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in the communities and is the equivalent to an MBE.

In April 2020 we were delighted to be recognised once again, as deserving the Duke of York's Community Initiative Award for our work in the community.

Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves:

We aim to hold at least £8,000 and no more that £30,000 in reserves at the year end. This is to enable us to make a start on our next production, ie obtain a licence, before we have received any income from other sources.

Independent examiner's report on the accounts

Report to the trustees of On accounts for the year ended

Ryedale Youth Theatre § 30" June 2025

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 43(2) of the Charity’'s Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed

Basis of Independent examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the reporting limited to those matters set out in the next statement.

Independent examiner's statement:

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements

  2. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act and

  3. to prepare accounts which in accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act; have not met: or

  4. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
