DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST TRUSTEES, REPORT The Trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2023. Statement of Trustees. Res nsibilit￿S Charity law requir8S the Trustees to prepare financial statement for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Dayspring Chnsknan Twst and of the income and expenditure of the Trust for that year. In preparing those financial statements. the Trustees are required to.. select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently: make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. follow applicable acxounting 8tarKlards, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in th8 financial statements. prepare the financial statements on the going ￿nCern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Trust Yiill continue in operation. The Trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting record$ vthich disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the finan¢ial posrtion of ￿ Dayspring Christian Trust and enablè them to ensure that the financial statements comply wrth relevant law. DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST REWEW OF ThE YEAR AND Fl￿uRE DEVELOPMENTS The purpose of the chanty is to promote and enc(￿rage the Christian faiih. During the year under review, the Trustees, have fulfilled these objectives in two ways. Fi￿tly, expenditure is incurred that promotes and encourages Christs'an v40rk both at home and overseas. Secondly, the Trust has employed individuals for secondment to Christian work. These secondments are for various mission projects including advancing th8 Christian faith, medical related work and the provision of Chr￿tIan literature. The Trust has also given financial support to retired Christian workers. Grants are sought for these areas of ministry arwj are e%8entially restri(aed funds for the purposes for whith they are given. The Trust will continue in this work in tt* future and will develop as opportunity for projects arise and funding is available. The Trustees monitor ongoing projects. The Trustees are aware of their legal duty lo have regard to the public benefit guidan￿ and to report on this Charity's ¢omplian¢e with the public benefft obligation. The grants and secondments made by the Trust rxovide encouragement in the Christlan falth by providing resources and expertise which would otherwse not be available to the b8nèfician8s. This includes wothng wth other chariti'es wrth Christian objectiV8s working in the fields of mission. RISK MANA The Trustees seek to identfy the major risks to N*thich the Dayspring Christian Trust is exposed. These are reViev￿1 and monitored by the Trustees and appropriate record and controls are maintained to mrtigat8 risk areas. GRANT MAKING POLICY As explained in the 'Review of the Year, the OLrtworking of the Aims of the Chanty is to womote and encourage the Christian farth. Re ve Res nsibilrties of Trustees and Examin The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The chanty's truste8s consid8r that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 nhe Chanties Acr) and that an independent examination is needed. It 18 my responsibility to- èxamine the accounts under seth'on 145 of the Charities Act. to follow the procedures laKJ down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145{5){b) of the Charrties AGt, and to stste whether particular matters have come to my attents'on 881 of Inde ndent Exami My examination was carried out in accordance wtth general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An 8xarninalion includes a review of the accounting records kept by th8 charity and a comparison of the a¢¢ounts preserrted with thos8 records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the a¢¢ounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees COn￿ming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required In an audit. and consequèntly no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fairf view and the report is limrted to those matters set out in the statement below.
