DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST TRUSTEES, REPORT The Trustees present th8ir rewt and the finanoal statements for the year ended 31 March 2022. Statement of Trustees. Res onsibilrties Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare finanoal staternent for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Dayspring Chnstian Trust and of the income and expenditure of the Trust for that year. In preparing those financial ststements, the Trustees are required to: select surtable accounting policies and then apply them consistently., make judgements and estimates that are reasonablè and prudent.. follow applicablè accounting standards, subject to any matenal departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements" prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Twst will continue in operation. The Twstees are r8sponsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial posrtion of the Dayspring Christian Trust and enable them to ensure that the financial statements mplY wrth relevant law. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charty and henc& for taking reasonable steps for the pventIOn and detection of fraud and other irregularities. DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST REWEW OF THE YEAR AND FLrruRE DEVELOPMENTS The purpose of the charty is to promote and encourage the Christs'an faith. During the year under review. the Trustees. have fulfilled these obiedives in ways. Firstly, expendrture is incurred that promotes and encourages Christian work both at home and overseas. Secondly, the Trust has employed individuals for secondment to Christian work. These secondments are for various mission projects including advancing the Christian faith, medical related work and the provision of Christs'an literature. Th8 Trust has also given financial support to retired Christian workers. Grants are sought for these areas of ministy are restricted funds for the purposes for which they are given. The Trust will continue in this work in the future and will develop as OPFQrtunity for projects arise and funding is availalle. The Trustees monitor ongoing projects. DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST Public Benefrt Statement During the year the Trustees have considered the public benefft guidance issued by the Charity Commission together with the supplemental guidance on the application of the public benefrt test to charities whose aims include advanang religion. The Trustees ar6 aware of th8ir legal duty to have regard to the public benefft guidance and to report on this charity's compliance with the public benefit obligation. The grants and se¢ondments made by the Trust provide encouragement in the Christian faith by providing resources and expertise which would otheThiise not be available to the beneficiaries. This includes working wrth other charities with Christian obj8Ctives working in the fields of mission. DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S RE RT TO THE TRUSTEES OF ThE DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ende(131 March 2022. which are sel out on the attached pages. Res ctive Res nsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's truste8s are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audrt is not required for this year under sèction 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (°the Charities Act.) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Chanti88 Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under Section 145(5)(b} of the Chanties Ad. and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention asis of Inde ndent Examinefs R My examination was carried out in accordance wrth general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by charity and a comparison of the accounts presented wrth those rerds. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disdosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audrt, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a Yrue and fair. view and the report is limrted to those matters set out in the statement below.
