DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST TRUSTEES. REPORT The Trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2021. Statement of Trustees, Res nsibilities Charily law r8quires th8 Trustees to prepare financial statement for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Dayspring Chnstian Trust and of the income and expendrture of the Trust for that year. In preparing those finanoal statemerts, the Trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply thém consistently; make judgements and ests'mates thal are reasonable and prudent., follow applicable accounting standards, subject to any matenal departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements., prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriale to presume that the Trust will continue in operation. The Twstees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial posrtion of the Dayspnng Christian Trust and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply wrth relevant law. They are also r8sponsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hen￿ for takn'NJ reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregulants'es. DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST REVIEW OF THE YEAR AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS The purpose of the charTty is to promote and encourage the Christian faith. During the year under review, the Trustees, have fulfilled these objectives in fv40 ways. Firstly, expenditure is incurred that promotes and encourages Christian work both at home and overseas. S8condly, the Trust has employed individuals for secondment to Christian work. These secondments are for various mission projects including advancing the Christian farth, medical related work and the provision of Christs'an literature. The Trust has also given finanGial support to retired Christian workers. Grants are sought for these areas of ministry and are restrided fijnds for the purposes for whbch they are given. The Trust will continue in this work in the future and will develop as opportunity for proj8cts arise and funding is available. The Trustees monitor orKJoing projects. DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN TRUST Public Benefit Statement Dursng the year the Trustees have considered the public benefrt guidance issued by the Charity Commission togeth&r with the supplemental guidan￿ on the application of the public benefit test to charities whose aims include advancing religion. The Truslees are aware of their legal duty to have regard to the public benefit guidance and to report on this charity's complian with the public benefit otAigation. The grants and secondments made by the Trust pr¢)vide encouragement in the Christian farth by providing resources and eX￿rtISe which would otherwise not be available to the beneficiaries. This includes working with other charities wrth Chnstian objectives workn'ng in the fElds of mission. RISK MANAGEMENT The Trustees seek to identfy the major risks to which the Dayspnng Christian Trust is exposed. These are reviewed and monrtored by the Truslees and appropriate ￿cord and controls ar8 maintained to mitigate risk areas. Res ive Res nsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The chariWs trustees are resportsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charrty's trust88s consider that an audtt is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (°the Charities Act.) and that an independent examination is needed. IThe charity's gross income exceeded £250,Crf)O and l am qUaIrf￿ to undertake the examination by being a qualified member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. It is my responsibilty to.. examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charrties Ad, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission {under section 145{51(b) of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention of Inde ndent Examin rfsRe My examination was carried out in accordanc8 general Directions given by the Charrty Commission. An 8xamination indudes a review of the accounting records kept by thè charity and a comparison of the a¢counts presented with those re¢ords. It also includes consideration of any unusual rtems or disclosures in the a¢¢ounts, and seeking explanation8 from the trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provid8 all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fairf view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. I confimi that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me Cause to believe that in. any material resped.. a¢¢ounting records were not kept in accordan￿ with section 130 of the Ad or the accounts do not accord with the a¢¢ounting records., or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements ¢onceming the fom and content of accounts set out in the Chanties (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fairf view which is not matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connedion with the examination to which attents'on should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to bè reached.
