Fellowship. We are Christians that identify ourselves as ‘born again’, ‘Spirit-filled’, ‘evangelical’ and ‘Pentecostal’ in belief, daily life and practice. We are a registered UK Charity, registration number: 1052747.

Our Purpose: “Being God’s hands, feet and voice – in order to win people to Christ, establish them in the faith, disciple and send people into the world."

We are unashamed about our Faith, and the confidence we place in our God – the only True Living God. As we love and serve Him, we seek to express our faith through words, works and wonders of the Holy Spirit, in a loving caring, responsible way ensuring that as many as possible may find a new life and hope in Jesus Christ. We believe our purpose – our expression – is to be, “God’s hands, feet and voice.”

Most of what we ‘do’ is extremely charitable in nature, as we seek to be a visible blessing to our community, and further afield. Our Church Centre is regularly used by external groups, members of the community or other charities at no charge, and purely on a voluntary donation basis. Whilst we are unashamedly Pentecostal and Evangelical in Faith, Belief, Expression and Practice, we welcome people from a rich variety of backgrounds irrespective of gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, lifestyle choices, Faiths or none. We are thrilled to provide a safe, loving, warm and peaceful venue for Organisations such as Dudley HUB, Creative Support, EXTEND Exercise, Meltdown, and other Health Care providers / provision.

ELDERS/TRUSTEES REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

It has been yet again another uniquely challenging year for us as a family at KCC. It has also been a year where the Lord has poured out His grace and we have much to thank Him for.

The global pandemic has resulted in huge changes for all of us personally as well as for the nation and globally. The church has not been exempt! None of us could have predicted how 2020 would go but we can look back to see the Word of the Lord saying, “For I am about to do something new” ….and indeed He has and is continuing to do so, truly turning all things to good!

As we have adapted to ‘lockdown’, and the ever changing ‘new normal’, we have seen big changes in meeting together as church. For KCC this has meant embracing technology, in particular Zoom and Facebook. Although there have been, and are, challenges with meeting in this way, we thank the Lord that technology has enabled us to virtually meet, fellowship, worship, take Communion and pray together. In particular, in respect of prayer

we have been truly blessed with our corporate twice weekly prayer meetings that have been a regular feature for many months now.

Members of KCC have gone above and beyond with helping other members of the church, neighbours and others throughout lockdown and we’ve also partnered with Dudley CVS to reach out and help members of the local community with shopping and other necessities, as well as being someone to talk to for those who were in isolation. We have also been able to help beyond our borders as well, especially for those in Pakistan who have faced increased hardships during this time.

More recently, with sadness, we have seen our friends Deb and Phill Crisp stepping down as leaders and trustees, as well as their decision to leave the KCC fellowship. We wish them well and bless them as they journey with the Lord into all He has in store for them.

During the last year we also saw the departure of our Age UK (Dudley) exercise leader due to ill health, and we wish her well and extend our thanks for the years she’s devoted to helping those who are in their older years continue to remain fit and healthy. Due to this, and financial constraints, we have had to cancel the exercise group for the foreseeable future, though we are still in contact with Age UK (Dudley) to explore what other services can be provided going forward.

The last two years have also involved the leadership, and particularly the trustees of the charity, working through a number of (often complex) issues that were inherited and are, in the main, the result of changes in the law. This is in addition to the ongoing issue regarding ownership and maintenance of the wall by the car park (previously highlighted to the fellowship), which has now been resolved amicably between all parties, as well as issues with our trust deeds which went missing many years ago. This has, and is still, causing problems with changing the charity’s bank accounts to reflect changes of treasurer and trustees and has resulted in the trustees seeking legal advice regarding a workable way forward.

As a church we are entering a new and exciting season as we slowly resume activities in the building and in the community. As a fellowship over the past several months we have had the opportunity to pause and reflect on what God is doing in this country, and what He is saying to us as a church and what that means specifically for us at KCC.

We believe that God is calling His church to return to the church of the New Testament. Jesus is head of His church, and as we see in the New Testament the emphasis is on the church being leadership led with a greater focus on the 5-fold ministry: - the Apostolic, Prophetic, Teacher, Pastor and Evangelist, with the 5 giftings working in a complementary way, to both function as church and grow the church under the great commission. (Matthew 28).

Naturally flowing from this expression of church, is the emphasis on body ministry (ministering to one another). In essence this means all have a part to play, with the church becoming an ‘every member functioning body’. This means each person (all of us!) growing in gifting, then using these giftings and abilities both within and outside of the church for the glory of the Lord. (Jude 20).

In line with this, we have seen God confirm a return to the smaller house church setting with groups coming together to live out what it means to be church, every day, rather than being restricted to a Sunday. This means doing life together by supporting, encouraging, discipling each other and then working to reach out to our communities.

Life groups are an essential part of this and so we will be looking to build in this area. We recognise the great danger of reducing Christianity to a single once-a-week Church Centre service lasting 2 hours, although this is not to underplay the power of gathering together! However, we all face the pressures of living in a very materialistic, self-absorbed, individualistic, pressured and at times lonely world. As citizens of the Kingdom of God, and disciples of the Lord Jesus, we seek to live out our faith 24/7 – in relationship, community and interdependence. At KCC we already run 2 life groups, and these are wonderful. Yet we crave more. The gospel breaks down all barriers – of gender, age, economics, education, race, colour and creed. We are family, a family loved by God. Therefore, we seek to establish Life Groups throughout our community, reflecting who and what we are. To that end in October 2020 we are looking to start and establish 2 new groups, and we will be looking at how we can naturally look to start or grow others.

We are also connecting with the wider church body as we recognise that we are not an isolated community but part of the bigger whole that is the body of Christ. Locally we are connecting with Revival Fires (Dudley), and All Nations (Wolverhampton), accessing the teachings and training they offer. We are also connecting with The Tribe Ministries (nationwide membership), for teaching, advice and accountability as a leadership.

As mentioned previously, we have been truly blessed in the increase of corporate prayer throughout the period of lockdown and our desire is to see this continue and grow into the future; that we would see houses of prayer springing up across the fellowship would be a joy.

Worship is another ministry which is a source of blessing, and despite the challenges of not being able to meet in person we have still been able, thanks to technology, to come together via Zoom to worship corporately. Despite the departure of the Phill and Deb, who were a big part of our worship team, we remain blessed within the fellowship with members who carry a heart to worship, and over the coming months and year ahead we plan to continue to help equip and grow them in their gifting.

Finally, but significantly noteworthy, we originally had someone lined up for the role of Treasurer. Unfortunately, due to health issues they are no longer able to take up the duties

involved in the task. If you have any suggestions for the role or feel that you may be able to help the church in this area, then please speak to one of trustees. As we are currently without a treasurer, we will be relying on our independent accountant Luke Silver for accountability as well as keeping the Charity Commission fully apprised of the situation, especially as we are looking at separating the Eldership and Trustees so that there is a fair distribution of responsibilities, as well as better level of accountability. To this end we will also be looking to recruit members of KCC to serve on the trustee board. Alongside this we have started to reach out to speak with people to build up the eldership team in line with the vision that God has given us.

As the scripture above states “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 - we can be assured that God has KCC in hand, He has guided us through numerous challenges and difficulties, and He is taking us into a brighter future. It is an exciting time in the life of the fellowship, and we are so glad to have you all joining us on this adventure and journey.

TREASURER’S REPORT FOR YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 2019 (compiled by Brian Bassingthwaighte Chair of Trustees)

As a Church we continue to operate within the regulations set out by the UK Charity Commission, maintaining required financial reserves, as well as maintaining a prudent balance in order to run our activities and pay all bills in a timely manner. Our reserves include our Property, which satisfy current regulations and demands. Through the faithfulness of our members in tithing and giving, we are able to provide clean, safe and appropriate facilities to open to the public for worship and community projects.

Our external Auditor, and the Trustees can confirm that there is minimal financial risk regarding the current and future operation of the Charity, and I am happy to report this. Through donations received we have also been in a position to practically support people, often in crisis situations, through our ‘Helping Hands Project'. These gifts have often made a profound difference to persons within the Church family or wider community. During the report period, our Helping Hands has been able to help people in India, Pakistan, Tanzania as well as the UK. We cannot overstate how important and wonderful it has been to be in a position to offer this practical support. This has largely come about through people giving donations specifying that it should be used in the above areas. This is closely regulated ensuring that we are diligent in how we use the gifts. The process is managed by the Treasurer, the donor(s) and the Church Leadership to ensure confidentiality and respect. Often, they are received with tears, from the giver(s) and receiver(s). As a fellowship, we would ask you to consider sowing into this Helping Hands

fund, either through a single or ongoing donation, or a legacy in memory of a loved one. Without that, the fund will soon be exhausted, and we will be left unable to respond in the way we should. Help us to help others to make the difference!

Operating as a Charity, for the UK Public Benefit, we do not charge for the use of the church building but work on a donation basis. I am pleased to report, that this approach is still working to the benefit of all.

In 2019 thanks to a generous gift we were able to refurbish the kitchen and the electrical systems that service the building including new lighting in the foyer area and main hall

Regarding the statement of accounts, we wish to draw your attention to the amount of funds that are generated through the Government Gift Aid scheme £4,899 . If you are a UK Taxpayer, we would ask you please to complete a Gift Aid form if you have not already done so. This makes a significant impact on us as a Charity enabling us to sow back into the community. If this were to be removed by the Government, this would cause great concern.

Also, in the following areas, we have made significant savings: We have a free service called Black Sheep Utilities who are responsible for ensuring that we are getting the best deals for our utilities and are in regular contact. This not only saves us a lot of time and energy researching best deals ourselves but ensures that we are being good stewards of God’s money.

As you can see by our income and expenditure (SOFA document) below you can see that while our income has come down so too has our expenditure, to the point that compared to the last few years we are no longer in deficit, and as we look to the chaos that Covid-19 has brought us this year this puts us in a healthy place.

Finally, we give thanks for the duties that Debbie Crisp has provided to KCC as interim treasurer and wish her all the best in the future. We originally had someone lined up for the role of treasurer, unfortunately due to heath issues they are no longer able to take up the duties involved in the task. If you have any suggestions for the role or feel that you may be able to help the church in this area, then please speak to one of the trustees. As we are currently without a treasurer, we will be relying on our independent accountant Luke Silver for accountability as well as keeping the Charity Commission fully apprised of the situation.

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

SECTION 2: CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS MINISTRIES

THE ARK REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

We are a parent/carer Baby and toddler group. We aim to provide adults with the opportunity to chat and develop friendships and a support network, whilst providing a structured yet relaxed environment for the children over a two-hour period. We encourage free play with story time, music, singing and art and craft opportunities. This gives the children the opportunity to freely express themselves in a secure informal environment. We provide a secure adult only refreshment area (hot drink), to maintain the safety of the children, along with a secure baby area where babies can play freely on the floor.

We celebrate Christian events, such as Christmas and Easter, Christian stories, and crafts. We include the adults in the planning and preparation so as to incorporate the needs of all children attending. Be they dietary, physical or emotional needs.

Unfortunately this year due to COVID-19 and lockdown, we have unfortunately had to close during March, for the remainder of the academic year, and will not re-open until 2021 as safety and protection of both adults and young children is both necessary and important to maintain Health and Safety at all times. During this time of lockdown, we have video recorded story time and put this out on our secure Facebook page.

Our advertising by word of mouth has over the last 12 months again increased the numbers attending our group, therefore providing additional donations giving us the financial freedom to purchase replacement equipment such as additional books for both story time and reading opportunities for the children.

We have had 6 volunteers throughout the year who collectively provide a minimum of fourteen hours of voluntary service per week, setting up, preparing, running and clearing up, averaging 340 hours during this shortened academic year.

In providing this service we enabled children from birth to 4 years accompanied by either parents/grandparents/other family members/carers/child minders, to benefit from this group. Those attending were from various faiths and ethnic backgrounds also catering for children with varying degrees of special needs. Our numbers averaged twenty-eight children and have on occasion varied between sixteen and thirty-one depending on time of year and the fact that some children move on to school, and/or moms returning to work after maternity leave. If all children registered were to attend on the same day, we would have to turn some away as we would be over our health and safety capacity.

We have this year encouraged the group to take part in the Christmas Tree Festival at another local church, developing strong links with the local community. This hopefully will continue into the future.

Over the next twelve months our aim is to maintain our numbers, particularly as we now have a large group of very young children ranging from birth to two and a half year olds, who are developing social and academic skills and friendships. We intend to continue to expand and maintain existing toys, reading materials, and variation on art and craft activities (depending on time of year and events being celebrated). We still intend to replace the wooden ark and animals that were irreparably damaged. We will purchase these items with donations received by the increased numbers attending along with continued funding from The Ark team and fund raising, when available.

We intend to once again open during the middle two weeks of the summer holidays, if COVID-19 allows.

KING’S CHAMPIONS REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

King’s Champions is a Sunday School running on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. It is for children, and people with special needs. The sessions usually last for around 45 minutes and involve music, biblical teaching, craft, games, dancing and singing. Our passion is to see all who attend gain an understanding of the gospel, and learn in a way that they understand, who they are as a child of God, as well as encouraging them to live a life of fullness in God and to be the people that God has created them to be. We

teach them that no matter their age, God can still speak to them and use them to speak to other people and share the love of Jesus.

During the last year, we have strived to make King’s Champions accessible to all. One way we have done that is by encouraging the children who attend to use Makaton signing to help include people with special needs who use signing to communicate. As well as using signing, we also use visual aids to help those who attend to communicate and understand more. This has meant that there are now signs and symbols around the church centre on certain doors making it more inclusive.

Our group includes several children as well as several people with special needs, so they learn together, pray together and communicate with each other, which has been a joy to see as God has brought them all together.

However, we have been affected by the lockdown at the start of 2020. We had to change the way we do things as the church was closed and we couldn’t meet together. To work around this, we took our sessions online and shared them on our Facebook page. Every week we had an online session which included a team member giving a message, as well as having a video of a Bible story and worship songs. These sessions lasted around 30-40 minutes and were watched by our usual group as well as others who don’t usually come to King’s Champions. This created an opportunity for others outside of the church to see what we get up to in our sessions. We also shared online sessions from other Sunday schools on our Facebook page.

Our plans for the future include looking at how and when we can start our sessions again in-person. We would like to continue as we left off, but we hope that more children and people with special needs will join us. We would also like to make use of our Facebook page by posting more of what we have been up to and sharing videos and songs to encourage others.

We would also like to get involved more in the church services, so we will be looking at ways we can do that so that everyone can get an idea of what we have been learning.

To help us reach more people and get them involved, we will need more volunteers to help at our sessions as well as volunteers to lead some of our sessions. This is a great opportunity to be part of something that God is doing that is different to other Sunday Schools. It’s a chance to be a part of reaching the special needs community, and our team have many exciting ideas and expect the ministry to grow in every way!

We are so grateful for the children and for the adults with special needs who are part of King’s Champions, and we are so excited to see what will happen when we come back together and grow the team!

SECTION 3: MISSION AND EVANGELISM MINISTRIES

LIFE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL September 2019 – March 2020

We seek to discern Invites that come to us from other Nations and ministries, as we are aware of the need to be good stewards of both our time and Kingdom resources.

Before we were grounded by ‘Covid’ we responded to two invites, one from Pakistan and one from Romania.

Pakistan: 3rd Feb-17th Feb. 2020

Our first mission was back to Pakistan where we have established good relationships with local pastors working together for the extension of God's Kingdom, despite extremely difficult circumstances and suffering intense persecution.

Myself, and another female volunteer travelled to Pakistan, and happily our first duty was to attend a wedding of a young man who has worked closely with us throughout our joint ministry there. It was actually a really valuable opportunity to get insight into the culture, and also to build relationships.

The second week was spent preaching the gospel, and as always it was a joy to see men and women respond. We had the opportunity to encourage the local pastors and the ministry leaders, who work tirelessly with few resources.

We are aware of the great need to equip the young Christian women and we were able to hold women’s meetings and strengthen them with the Truth of God's word and through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is an area of ministry where the church is desperate for help, and I am praying that I can return next year for a longer period of time to run a Discipleship school specifically for women.

We had the opportunity to visit those who were sick in their homes and encourage pastors in their Kingdom work.

We are privileged to be connected to the persecuted church and pray earnestly for God to move powerfully in the land.

Romania: 27th Feb-10th March 2020

A small team of volunteers travelled to Romania in response to an invitation following our first fruitful mission last year.

‘Covid’ was just beginning to take hold and sadly the local folk were already beginning to get nervous about visitors from other parts of Europe. However, we did have opportunities to minister in the Roma communities and in local church gatherings, it is always humbling seeing God move in response to his Word.

Whilst there we saw people respond to the gospel, and we prayed with those who were struggling emotionally, physically and spiritually.

We held two ladies’ meetings and I think we, as a team would all agree we were overwhelmed by how God transformed every woman that attended the gathering. Holy Spirit moved powerfully in both the ladies’ meetings, it was the first time that these women had experienced being ministered to personally, it was sheer joy to see them touched so deeply by the Lord.

It was also a joy and privilege to be asked to preach and lead Communion during a Sunday morning church service where it had always been the role of the Pastor, and certainly never by a female. God is granting us favour in the region and we want to build on what He has started amongst the Roma and the Romanian people.

We also had the privilege of ministering and sharing a Word from God with the staff of a large Hospice, we had a precious time of prayer with them and were humbled by their valuable Ministry, fuelled by such love and compassion.

We ministered in youth meetings and to Pastors, and forged relationships for the future partnership between Life Ministries International and our friends in Romania.

Due to ‘Covid-19’, we could not visit as many people in their homes as we would have liked, but we did get to pray with some and, as always, it was very humbling.

We look forward and are praying, that we can get back to Romania early in 2021. We have suggested running regular women's meetings throughout the year, an idea that was welcomed by the Pastor, so we are praying for many trips back and forth to Romania in the coming year as the Lord makes the way!

BIRMINGHAM HOMELESS MINISTRY REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

Our Homeless Ministry exists in response to the increasing number of homeless men and women on the streets of Birmingham.

Due to Covid-19 we have not been able to get out on the streets of Birmingham since February, however last year and leading up to Christmas we were able to reach out and

A team of around 5 of us travel to Birmingham and connect with those who find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons. We count it a privilege to sit and listen to their stories and offer to pray with them.

This is a ministry we look to pick up once again when Covid-19 has eased in the area.

We are always looking for others to join the team of volunteers so that we can continue in a small way, to make a difference in the community.

KINGSWINFORD COMMUNITY OUTREACH STREET MINISTRY REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

Throughout 2019 three volunteers joined in prayer walking and connecting with our community, praying for businesses and for the prosperity of our community, also connecting with folk to invite them to the various community groups we hold at

Kingswinford Christian centre.

Although most of our community outreaches held at the centre are on hold this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, it is still good to be a presence in our community and make connections.

For the past couple of months, we have changed to a Tuesday morning and we have enjoyed praying for and chatting with people in our community and offering to pray with them. It is good to be out regularly with a clear banner stating who we are and what we are doing.

This is a simple ministry and one where everyone can be involved; we would love seeing more folk joining us to pray and connect.

“PATCHES” REPORT September 2019-March 2020

Patches" was planted in our local community to be Good News! To be a place of refuge and safety, a place of prayer and ministry and a place to just sit and know there is a listening ear.

The house continues to be a place full of a tangible peace and rest. It has continued this year as far as “Covid-19” restrictions will allow, to be used for ministry and prayer and for Discipleship.

A small group of us continue to be a tangible presence in the local community, prayer walking the streets. We sense that "Patches" will be accessed in greater measure in the coming uncertain days.

LIFE GROUPS REPORTS September 2019 – March 2020

Jesus commanded all Christians to, “go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Discipleship is at the heart of Christianity. We are more than attenders, converts, or followers. We are disciples of the risen Lord Jesus Christ who seek to be discipled as well as disciple others.

Discipleship, devotion to apostolic teaching, fellowship and sharing in meals were hallmarks of the early Church. We seek today to continue in the footsteps of those who have gone before us, outworking these areas in our context, culture and community.

We recognise the great danger of reducing Christianity to a single once-a-week Church Centre service lasting 2 hours. We face the pressures of living in a very materialistic selfabsorbed, individualistic, pressured and at times lonely world. As citizens of the Kingdom of God, and disciples of the Lord Jesus, we seek to live out our faith 24/7 – in relationship, community and interdependence.

Kingswinford Christian Centre runs several specific focus groups and these are all wonderful. Yet we crave more. The gospel breaks down all barriers – of gender, age, economics, education, race, colour and creed. We are family, a family loved by God. Therefore, we seek to establish Life Groups throughout our community, reflecting who and what we are.

A Life Group ideally consists of 8-12 members, of all ages and backgrounds, and is open to all. It is based on the following:

Ultimately, we would encourage all the family members of KCC, as well as those seeking, to join a Life Group. We are looking for new locations – homes to host a Life Group. Our Life Groups must continue to be upward and outward focused. They must grow – spiritually, relationally and numerically. If you are interested in hosting a Life Group in your home, or you would like to attend a Life Group, then please see one of the Life Group Coordinators or speak to any of the Church Leaders.

LIFE GROUP @ KATH’S/CLIFF & DIANA’S, REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

This Life Group now continues to meet every Tuesday for 2 hours each evening. The purpose of this group is to encourage people to come along and continue their Christian walk in a “homely” environment where they are encouraged to study the Bible, pray, grow in their relationship with God, and serve the community.

We have10 people in the group ranging from 21 - to 75 years of age, who attend on a regular basis.

Our evening always follows our KCC Life Group ‘pattern’: Welcome; Worship; Word and Witness.

From September 2017 our Life Group has met alternately at 2 of the members’ homes. Our oldest member is unable to negotiate steps so it was unanimously agreed that we would meet in her home every alternate week, so that she would not miss our Bible studies, prayer nights and social gatherings.

Our Homeless Project in Birmingham has continued with members of this Life Group taking bags of everyday items to the people who find themselves homeless for whatever reason. Once a month a team of 6/7 members go out distributing these bags and offering practical help and prayers to those who we see. Our members are now getting to know the “regular” homeless people and can sit, chat and pray with them.

We look forward to being able to continue our visits once again soon, as we have been unable to go since February, due to Covid-19.

This has been quite a challenging time for us as a Church, due to Covid-19 and the restrictions that have been imposed, but we have continued to meet regularly as a Life Group, (since the pandemic until very recently we have been meeting via a computer link), because we value these times together in our small groups, where we can comfortably discuss our concerns together, and encourage each other as we lean on the Word of God.

During our meetings together one of the study’s we did was a study following Jesus’ journey to the cross, where we had a time of study and reflection ahead of our coming together to explore aspects of our faith, to include the practical out working in our homes, families, work places and community.

Our aim this year has been for us as individuals, to further grow in our walk with the Lord, and encourage each other to use our spiritual giftings and God’s calling on our lives, and to be all God wants us to be and show God’s love to all in our community.

At Christmas we gathered with our other Life Group and enjoyed our annual Carol Singing around the streets of our local community, collecting for the Mary Stevens Hospice Charity. We also joined for Carols in the Community in the local village marketplace, and a brilliant time was had by all.

We look forward to what God has in store for each one of us throughout this next year. Each life group member has commented on how invaluable it is to meet, by whatever means, and have special times of worship, studying the Word, and fellowshipping together. As a life group leader, it is such a joy to see how others are growing in their faith and confidence in a loving, caring God and their desire to share with others.

“….Love each other just as much as I have loved you. For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re My true followers.” (John 13:34-35 TPT)

LIFE GROUP @ JULIA’S September 2019 – March 2020

Throughout the period October 2019 to March 2020 we have met regularly together once a fortnight on a Tuesday evening for over two hours.

The group is regularly attended by between 7 and 11 people.

Whilst the group regularly meets at one house, life group members are encouraged to consider hosting at their homes.

Our focus has been and remains for Life Group to be a safe place, a time to encourage, share and equip one another. A time to be family: -

“Building each other up in our most holy faith” (Jude 20)

Over the last year the emphasis has been for each individual to ‘come as they are, where they are’, being family, but within that also encouraging each individual to seek the Lord ahead of the evening about 'bringing something to the table'. Food yes but also a word, scripture, psalm, poem perhaps, song, testimony, prophecy.

To that extent our evening follows KCC life group format being: -

Welcome- a sociable time where we share about our lives and week. A time also of sharing refreshments from the bring and share buffet. A relaxed lead into our time together.

Worship- all group members are encouraged to be creative in expressions of worship. In the main this has been through listening and/or singing to worship songs on YouTube. But can include aspects of testimony, sharing a prophetic word or encouraging scripture

Word- this is a study of God’s Word where everyone is encouraged to share thoughts, ideas, challenges, interpretations, questions etc.

Witness and Prayer- the group are encouraged to give testimony of how they are out working their faith in their lives, families, workplaces and communities. As well as sharing any concerns, struggles or challenging issues they, or those they know, are facing. Thinks leads to times of encouragement and support as we pray with one another, as well as for the nation and nations.

We are God’s hands feet and voice. Expressions of His church, the church of Jesus. Scripture tells us in 1 John 4:12

“But if we love each other, God lives in us and his love is brought to full expression in us”

And further in John 13:33

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

We have focused on and explored what the Lord is speaking to the church now through the sermons He has released to the body and wider church, and from that what that means to us individually.

We continued and finished the study based on the book by John Bevere, The Bait of Satan (recognising and dealing with offence). This was challenging for us all, but the Lord used the study and times of sharing, to highlight those areas He wants to release us into greater freedom.

We then started a study following Jesus’ journey to the cross allowing for personal time of study and reflection ahead of our coming together to explore aspects of our faith, to include the practical out working in our homes, families, work places and community.

Over the period we have been involved in community outreach, to include carol singing in the marketplace, community carol singing as well as providing practical support to KCC homeless ministry.

Due to the onset of Covid-19 our in-person meetings have not taken place since early March 20. Whilst we have remained in touch digitally many personal life circumstances have prevented many members from remaining closely connected to the group. This has, in essence, led to a disbanding of the group.

We look forward to the opportunity of establishing or re-establishing a similar group in the future., and to the journey ahead!

We give all glory to God for how He has encouraged, led and sustained us all throughout the year.

SECTION 4: PRAYER AND WORSHIP MINISTRIES PRAYER MINISTRIES REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

Prayer has always been a keystone for the Church as

God’s chosen means of communicating with His people, and as His people it is our desire and responsibility to display this within and among our church family and community. All members of KCC, young and old are encouraged to develop their prayer life and teaching on prayer and intercession is always available for those who need it. Also, through weekly news emails members of KCC can be informed about prayer requests as well as special/urgent prayer requests being sent out via text. Finally, there is also a prayer section on KCC’s website.

Prayer is seen throughout the different ministries at KCC from Kings Kids to all the different meetings we run, and we want to continue to see this develop and grow so that all the groups running have a firm foundation.

Special times of prayer – At different points of the year we encourage the church as a whole to come together to pray into certain areas, or to seek God into matters. Over the past 12 months we have held several days of prayer and fasting; prayer clocks alongside prayer meetings to coincide with mission trips that are occurring. It is wonderful seeing the members of KCC engaging in these times and sharing what God has been saying. We also encourage the fellowship to engage with other organisations prayer events (for example Trumpet Call, a National Day of Prayer) as we are all part of the wider community.

Since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic and all the lockdown restrictions that have been put in place, we have embraced technology and moved the bulk of our corporate prayer meetings online via the Zoom application and we are meeting twice weekly to pray.

Looking forward, we will be using technology so that, regardless of what is happening we will still be able to pray, as well as being able to facilitate those who would be unable to make it into the building.

MENS MINISTRIES REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

Over the past 12 months the men’s ministries has continued to move forward even though, due to Covid-19 we missed meeting for half the year. Over the past couple of years there has been an interest from the men of the church for something more, which is always great to see.

Our regular monthly prayer meeting was seeing a main group of 6-7 gentlemen coming along and 3-5 others attending when work and other commitments allow. We are now transitioning the prayer meeting to a life group (starting Oct 2020) so that we can meet more, encourage each other more and learn more about God together.

We have been continuing to run a weekly breakfast meeting, which always sees 2-3 of the church men attending, and it is a time for them to connect and talk about the issues they are facing. We are also continuing to support, on a personal basis, the owner of the establishment we use as he is going through his own issues at this time.

Looking forward, we will continue to encourage the men from the church to join us and look at other ways we can make a difference in the community.

SECTION 5: VULNERABLE PERSONS MINISTRIES

‘AT ONE’ REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

This ministry exists to offer a once a month quality lunch and fellowship time for any older persons within our community, regardless of religious belief, culture or ethnicity.

It has always been led by a small team of hard-working volunteers and is valued by those who come along month by month.

Our ‘thought for the day’ given by one of our volunteer team, further offers personal encouragement to each individual that God loves them, cares for them and is easily accessed by those who genuinely seek Him.

Our aim is to extend a warm welcome to all and to ensure that each individual feels included and valued, whether they come for just one visit or indeed return month after month, as many do!

It has been good to see how some of the regular attendees support us in prayer when we have mission trips, and some of our ladies are happy to join in other activities that take place in our building throughout the week.

Our on-going challenge has always been the transportation of those who may wish to come to the lunch but find it difficult to get here. This has always been a frustration to us, but we continue to pray that as we grow in numbers there may be those who are willing and able to bring others along.

Each year we organise a Christmas Meal with the help of volunteers from the Church. This has proved extremely popular, resulting in 25 people attending last year and all eagerly looking forward to coming along this year. However, because of the situation in the Nation at the moment, due to Covid-19, it is very unlikely we will be able to host this event this year, but will look forward to what we can do in 2021.

Our hope has always been that this ministry will grow even further and that we will see more people accessing and benefitting from all the ministry the team has to offer. We are constantly encouraging current guests and church members alike to be more proactive in promoting this ministry and to invite and bring guests along to the meetings, which they have been doing, but we will always be willing and able to accommodate more in 2021. We hope!

‘TRULY SCRUMPTIOUS’ REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

‘Truly Scrumptious’ is an outreach event aimed at bringing in the local community.

The second Friday of each month we prepare a vintage style afternoon tea from 2:30-4:30pm. This monthly event has proved to be highly successful in drawing new people into the

church premises and building new relationships with those who may never have otherwise set foot inside.

We have a small team of hard-working volunteers who give between 1 and 5 hours on the day to set up the lounge area of our building, serve the afternoon tea, clear up and also make the numerous home-made cakes which are so popular! People are free to pop in for half an hour or stay for the full two hours, which most choose to do!

We welcome all ages, regardless of religion or ethnicity and value and give a warm welcome to all who come through our doors.

The afternoon takes a lot of preparation and takes a committed team working hard from beginning to the end of clear up! But this is such a rewarding monthly time!

This event has grown so much in the last year that we have had to move to a bigger room in the Church to accommodate everybody. This then brings its own challenges, one of which is the need for a bigger team of volunteers! However, over the weeks we have gained new volunteers from the Church who are willing to come, help, and who enjoy every minute of their time preparing, serving and clearing up!

‘Truly Scrumptious’ has proved to be a successful means of blessing those around us, in giving them a quality afternoon tea, fellowship and bridging the gap between the church and the local community.

Because of the situation with “Covid-19”, we have really missed seeing our lovely friends, but hope that we will see them all again in early 2021!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have given their time in both serving, washing up, cake making, and all the other tasks involved for this ministry, and I look forward to us continuing to be a blessing to our local community in 2021!

SECTION 6: SERVICE MINISTRIES

BUILDING MAINTENANCE REPORT September 2019 – March 2020

All work done over the previous twelve months has held up. As with most buildings there is always something to be done, and if you see any areas of concern these should be brought to the attention of the trustees. Regular maintenance has continued with our gas and hot water system and our water heater looks to continue to serve us well for a while longer.

All A/V equipment owned by KCC has been checked/maintained and we continue to replace audio cables as and when needed. Due to an issue with the church’s main mixing desk we have had to replace it.

We are currently in the process of upgrading our Computer systems and onsite data storage as well, following on from the network cable upgrade. With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are looking at further upgrades to our computer technologies so that we can run services remotely, as well as allowing those who can’t make it to any services to continue to access what we do. In line with this we recently were gifted the finance to purchase video equipment to help record services.

Over the past 12 months no major work has been undertaken, however the wall next to the car park which has suffered weather damage has been made safe, and eventually we will be looking at finishing repairs of the wall.

Due to weather damage, the shed at the rear of the building has been removed and we are now looking at how we can make the most of this area of the property.

As always, we have several minor projects planned for the coming 12 months including but not limited to :

  1. re-seal and paint of the baptismal pool

  2. on-going works to exterior window frames

  3. re painting of different areas

The garden area project is still on hold whilst we find a new landscape gardener to take over the project.

With a very active fellowship the facilities are in constant use and it is with joy that we see the building used, not just by members of the church but by members of the community as well, with KCC being a polling station and several birthday parties taking place throughout the year. We are also used by other groups such as Dudley Hub who hold dropin services.

Between all the activities that are ongoing at KCC it is rare for the centre to be closed during the week, so with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic the centre was closed in March to all members and groups that use the building, we will be reopening the centre to users from October 2020.

With the centre being closed for such a long period due to the lockdown restrictions, we have also upgraded our CCTV systems and performed weekly maintenance checks to ensure that systems are all working optimally.

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity¹s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Independent Examiners Report to the Trustees and Church Council

Introduction

Thank you for submitting the accounts for independent examination. They have been well maintained and the treasurer and others responsible are to be commended for their hard work. Therefore I will keep my comments to a minimum.

Charity Law and Financial Regulations

The independent examination has been carried out in accordance with the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 1995 (Statutory Instruments No 2724) and the Accounting by Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).
