TRUSTEES. REPORT continued
YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
Report by the Chair of Trustees on the Activities undertaken for the Public
Benefit
The year began in a flury of attivity, with a number of people visiting the seniices for the
first time, and several regular members going through times of challenge. In all of that,
early indicators suggested a positive year ahead. and indeed this has turned out to be the
case.
New initiatives
The support of some trusts and foundations and other local agencies have provided a
springboard for several new projects which have impacted on the community.
Early in the year, our youth team held a community information outreach day at our local
Co-op. We are grateful to the Co-op community fund for their support which has facilitated
three Seniors Tea events this yearl gathering between 25 and 32 local people on each
occasion, reducing social isolation and improving community cohesion.
New external funding streams (BMBC HSG) secured this year enabled our successful Picnic
Club projett to continue, and gain momentum. Several volunteers hold DBS checks and
lead this projett, and the support of a number of secondary school pupils has been
invaluable and is to be commended.
On each of the Picnic Club events 30 families have ￿Ceived a take home Picnic Hamper
containing a selection of family foods to the value of £50.00, and 30 children have been
given a Picnic Lunch on 3 days of each of the four school holidays. We are grateful to four
local schools for their partnership in sharing information about this with local families.
Training
Youn
Lions
A major milestone was reached when one young person attended Young Lions boot camp
training. The feedback we received regarding the leadership skill and potential of this
young person was very positive, and the addittonal training will no doubt pay dividends in
our local situation.
Minister in Trainin
Our associate Pastor has continued with his Assemblies of God Minister in Training
programme. It is evident that the training is contributing to his development and skill and
we look forward to him achieving accredited ministerial status in 2026.
Team Da
During four school holidays, in conjunction with Picnic Club, we have held Team Days for 6
young people. On these days, one of our key leaders delivers training in public
presentation, community engagement, projett planning and delivery, teambuilding and
premises management. The young people involved in these Team Days have been
bringing Keynote presentations to the Church, demonstrating their growing skills and
capabilities.
Residents and staff, and the project play a part in achieving our objective of the
furtherance of the gospel in a meaningful way.
Ongoing successes
Seniors Communit Outreach
A new group has emerged this year, ably led by a retired Pastor who has recently joined
us. This group has held ServI￿S in four residential homes on a regular basis. This provides
opportunity for the involvement of several people and the group has been well received.
Page 5

Local residential homes have indicated that these ServI￿S have a positive effett on both
residents and stsff.
GRIMEfHORPE PENTEcosfAL CHURCH
TRUSTEES" REPORT continued
YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
The development of a regular Preaching Team has provided new variety and expression of
gift from which the whole congregation has benefitted. Several Youth Sundays allowed
young people to play key roles in the Church. and the new features of Men's and Women's
Ministries Dayi along with Family Dinner Day have all proved to be highlights. The praise
and worship team have grown and developed in confidence and skill and play a major part
in the life of the church, for which we are grateful.
The weekly Prayer Group has grown in attendance and Children's Church once each month
saw the addition of several new children towards the end of the year.
Easter a
The Good Friday Servi￿ provided the opportunity to welcome other churches for a special
celebration eveningi and Christmas as ever made a key impact.
At Christmas, leaflets and information were distributed by matl drop to almost 1,000
homes in the locality, and promotion and information sharing have been given increased
attention throughout the year.
The Christmas Pantomime saw record attendan￿, with the building filled to maximum
capacity. This has become a well-known annual feature for the local community and many
parents expressed their appreciation for this event, which the church delivers free of
admission charges for the benefit of the community.
Family Dinner Day at the church in early December was.well attended by people of all
ages, and the new initiative of Christmas Dinner at a local restaurant attracted almost 50
people. We are inc￿a$lngIY aware of the need for integration and community cohesion.
Many people live alone, and these two meals certainly ￿dUCed any sense of social
isolation, providing an opportunity for celebration together in a social setting.
Although attendance at the Christmas Eve seniice was lower than usual, the year ended
on a positive note, with the special guest visit of another local Pastor, as a stepping-stone
to the year ahead.
It has been encouraging to see giving continue to be stable despite the current cost of
living crisis. Including the benefit of gift aided donations our annual income from regular
giving i.e. Donations and gift aid income, was £47,671. This is a slight increase on 2023
(£44,546), and 2022 (£42,935) This, together with reduced costs and the new external
funding streams mean that the church is in a healthy financial situation, and positioned to
do much more by way of community action.
Missions
Our support for the Church Planting Missions Project in Northern Spain continues to be
supported rather less than in previous years. This year almost £1,000 was contributed to
this. None the less, we maintain contact with the missionary couple in Spain, and at our
local level, discussions have been underway regarding the ongoing opportunities to grow
and enhance our missions outreach strategyi in partnership with Grace Bible College and
their mission's trip to Bulgaria in 2025.
Life events
Four baby dedications, four baptisms and several funerals have provided a platform for
both celebration and sympathyi and our Pastoral Team continue to count it an honour to
support individuals from all walks of life through these major milestone events.

As always, we place on record our appreciation and thanks to our Pastoral Team, Core
Team, trustees, administrator, cleaner, technical team, catering and hospitalityr praise
and worship, and welcome teams. In fact, to so many people who contribute in so many
ways to our effectiveness and success. We are very grateful for the energy and skills
these people bring to us. Their tireless input makes us the organisation we are and helps
renew our commitment to make disciples and make a difference in our world.

Financial Review
stees res
ons
es for the financial statements
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with
reasonable accuracy the financial position of the charity at any time and enable the trustees
to prepare financial statements for each financial year. The trustees are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the
prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities.
The Charit
on reserves
The work of the charity is reliant upon the ongoing support from the Tithes and Offerings of
members and friends. The Trustees review the financial situation on a regular basis in order
to ensure that the charity can meet its liabilities as they fall due and ensure the ongoing
work of the charity. The Trustees aim to build a reserve equivalent to six months running
costs which is calculated to be approximately £20,000 at the usual level of activity. The
actual level of ￿SerVe held at 31 December 2024 was £65,401 (2023: £48,023).
Financial Revi
of the Year
The financial statements are set out in pages 9 to 12. The Receipts and Payments Account
shows a surplus for the year of £35,313 (2023: £18,379). The total funds of the charity at
year-end stand at £85,911 (2023: £50,598). The financial position has improved
significantly since the end of the previous year, due to the cost cutting measures that have
been put into place.
The trustees declare that they have approved the report above.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
I report on the accounts of the charity, which are set out on pages 9 to 12.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the p￿paratiOn of the accounts. The
charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144
of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is
needed.
It is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordan￿ with general Directions given by the
Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept
by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also
includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and
seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and
consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts p￿sent a 'true and fairf
view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no material matiers have come to my attention which
gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act,
or
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and I have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.

l. Accounting policies
Basis of the
aration of the accounts
The financial statements have been prepared on a Receipts & Payments basis which
summarises the movement of cash in and out of the organisation. In this context 'cash'
includes cash equivalents, such as bank accounts where cash can be readily available to
pay debts as they fall due. This format of accounts is available to non-company
charities with gross annual income of £250,000 or less.
Classification of income & ex
enditure
Income and expenditure has been analysed in the accounts using natural classification.
Funds structure
The charity maintains an unrestricted fund which represents funds which are expendable
at the discretion of the trustees in ftjrtherance of the objects of the charity.
Unrestricted funds may arise from general donations, grants of a general nature, fees
for service provision and payment for Servi￿ delivery contracts.
Restricted funds may be provided to the charity for particular purposes and may only be
spent for the purposes for which they were given. Any balance remaining outstanding
on a restricted fund at the end of the year is carried forward as a balance on the fund,
unless permission has been given by the funder to remove the restriction on the balance
outstanding. Restricted funds will arise from grants and donations given to the charity
for specifi'c purposes.
