## **Report of the Trustees Leabrooks Christian Centre for the year ended 31[st] December 2023** ## **Administration details** Leabrooks Christian Centre is established by the CONSTITUTION AND TRUST DEED ADOPTED ON 28 march 2006 as amended on 07 Apr 2019 and is a registered charity No. 1052634. The address is 67 Main Road, Leabrooks, Alfreton DE55 1LA ## **Governance and Management** The Trustees are responsible for making major decisions regarding the formulation and implementation of the charity’s aims and objectives. As well as the control of the finances, they met 11 times during the year. Trustees holding Office during the year were: Pastor Lynne Clarke Ruth Youngs Marie Bush Esther Slack A deed of retirement and a deed of appointment is currently still being executed by Geldards Solicitors with Elaine Whittingham & Joan Fearn resigning as Holding Trustees and Management Trustees Marie Bush and Esther Slack being appointed as new Holding Trustees. Ruth Youngs is currently a Holding Trustee and is to remain as one. The Land Registry denied our application for first registration of the land, due to some paperwork relating to the deeds of the building being missing. They are however willing to grant the charity Possessory Title. Which means the Charity will still be named on the deeds. However, if someone comes forward with a paper copy of the missing paperwork, they could claim the land. We are now pursuing the Possessory Title along with Possessory Title indemnity Insurance to cover us should someone come forward to claim the land. If no one comes forward 12 years from the title being registered the charity can apply again for first registration, which will very likely be awarded. As part of building maintenance, we have undertaken work replacing the ridge tiles on one of the church roofs. We are in the process of obtaining quotes for a full electrical rewiring after only being given a one year electrical certificate at the last inspection. ## **Objectives and Charitable Activities** The objectives of the charity are: 1. To relieve sickness and financial hardship and promote good health by the provision of funds, goods and services. 3. To advance education ## **Activities and Achievements** We meet weekly for worship on a Sunday and prayer on a Tuesday. We run Explorers Sunday school for children on a Sunday morning during our worship service, we also run mini Explorers, which is a Tots and Toddlers group for the community on a weekly basis in term time, we cater for children from birth to 3 years or until they start Nursery. Parents, carers etc. have the opportunity to meet other families, build friendships, and feel less isolated. We have weekly Thirsty Thursday’s which is a coffee morning for the community where people can meet others, make friends and chat over a coffee. Once a month on a Sunday we run Café Church as a stepping stone to introducing them to Jesus and to Church life. We are involved in running a community Singing Café for vulnerable adults, those with Dementia, mental health needs, learning disabilities etc. Through this we are building relationships with local churches and professional care organisations. Throughout the year we regularly have food collections and work with local food banks and food pantry’s, to support those who are struggling.
