Achievements c?nd performance
As we look back over 2023, can reflèct on how much has been
achieved through our departments, events and Sunday gatherings. God
has blessed us and enabled us to reach our communities with His love
and we are so thankful to everyone who gave their finance, time, energy.
prayer and resources to make 2023 a significant year in the lrfe on Now
Church.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Our Langold building was very busy throughout the week with the many
adivrties and services we run for the local community. Many people
have discovered Now Church for the first time and a full children and
youth programme also ran throughout the week
During the August summer holidays we ran a Stay and Play holiday club
for primary school aged children and their families which proved very
popular again. Now Gold is our monthly senior citizens lunch whilst
weekly events such as Now Tots and Bible Studies meant the Church
was open most days of the v￿ek.
In response to the cost of living crisis that beeAme a major concem for
many in our localty during the prior year. we continued to run
community grocery called the Food Hub and al80 the Lounge where
people could use th8 Church building and café during the V￿ek to keep
wam when the cost of heating their homes became too expensive in the
autumn and winter.
The year ended with a packed Christmas programme in Decernber as
usual with the Carols by Candlelight service in the Church.

Respective The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year
responsibilities of {under section 43121 of the Charities Act 1993 Ilhe Act)) and that an
trustees and examiner independent examination is needed.
11 is my responsibility lo
examine the accounts (under section 43 ofthe Act),
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the
Charity Commission {under section 43{71(bl of the Act), and
to stale whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of independent My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given
examiner's statement by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review ofthe
accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts
presented with Ihose records. It also includes consideration of any unusual
items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the
trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and
on5equently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
Independent In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention (etk8F
examiner's ststement
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect,
the trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that..
proper accounting records are kept (in accordance with section 41 of
the Act). and
acGounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and
omply wilh the accounting requirements of the Act., or
2. to which. in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a
proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
