To reLieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or seNices of any kind, including through the provision of counselling and support in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church Council from time to time thinks fit. To advance education in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Church council from time to time may think fit. Scope The Peoples Church exists to impact Bestwood Park and the surrounding areas in the north of Nottingham by building community and making a tangibLe, positive difference to the people who live here. We also support development projects in other countries where we have built relational links. Finally, our purpose is to facilitate a vibrant, growing church in Bestwood Park. Activities and Achievements 2024 has been a year of success for Peoples Church. We have seen several new people added to our church community and become fully devoted disciples. We launched our Breakfast club, which supports families suffering the effects of the cost-of-living crisis. We have strengthened our relationships with other local churches and charities, whom togetherwe seek to impact the Local community, city, country and world. Sunday Services The PeopLes Church continues to grow into a multigenerational and multiethnic community church, with around 17 nationalities in the life of the church. We exist to worship and seNe God and have a tangibLe impact in the local community. Due to skills learnt during the pandemic, we are now able to broadcast our Sunday services on our YouTube Channel. Prayer The church has three gatherings to pray during the week. The main meeting is on a Tuesday morning, and around 20 people attend. On Saturday evenings, a small faithful number attend to pray for our Sunday gatherings. We also pray on a Sunday morning for around 20 minutes before our Sunday services begin. Prayer is the engine room of alLwe Daytimers On Thursday mornings, our Daytimers group continues to care for the more senior members of our congregation. They have times of fellowship around coffee and cake, worship, and the teaching of God's word. Events Throughout the year, we hold speciaL events for children, youth, Ladies and Men. The men had breakfast, and the ladies held a fellowship day and an afternoon tea. We also run special events at Christmas. Our Christmas gatherings saw around 150 visitors from our community come to ourfamilyfun day and Christmas services. Kids and Youth Peoples Kids and ExpLorers run on Sundays, where up to 15 children, aged O- 11, attend for games, activities and teaching in age-relevant groups. Our Creche for children 0-4 is still unmanned and children are cared for by parents/grandparents. We also have midweek children's groups, including a toddler group and Kids work for children in school years 1-6. Our Youth help with the children on Sundays. Midweek we have a youth group for children in school years 6-9. Our Youth also meet termly with other church youth groups. Community Breakfast Club, 2024 saw the launch of our new initiative, which provides a cooked breakfast for families who are suffering from the cost-of-living crisis. We have targeted this support to one of the areas of greatest social-economic need in Nottingham City. These have been funded by the faithful generosity of the church community. We have fed up to 60 people on Tuesdays and Thursdays during most of the school holidays. Around 10-15 volunteers are a part of the team who make these groups a success. The Peoples Church also runs a Toddler Group on Tuesday Afternoons, which is well attended by members ofthe local community as well as the church community. Around 15-20 toddlers with their parents, grandparents, and carers attend each week. This is run by a faithful team of 3-4 volunteers and our Families Minister. Each Wednesday, we run a Renewwellbeing Cafe. Set up in a cafe style, this is a place to share hobbies forwellbeing, to offera quiet Space, and to join in the rhythms of prayer. This is mainly attended by people who belong to the Peoples Church community. Partneringwith a numberof otherchurches, and organised underguidance from Trussell Trust, we are also involved in sending funding and volunteers to help run a locaL Foodbank Scheme. The Foodbank is an invaluable resource to many peopLe suffering from the cost-of-Living crisis. In addition, we are partnered with Hope into Action helping to deliver practical support for individuals suffering the threat of homelessness, by providing housing, counselling, befriending and other essential services. Financial Review The total income for 2024 of £96,174, which was provided by the generous donations of the members of The Peoples Church. This figure aLso includes investment interest of £1,080. Expenditure for 2024 totaLled £102,958. Careful monitoring of the charity's income and expenditure meant that we ended 2024 with a year-end balance of £129,711. Full details of our finances can be found in the accompanying receipts and payments accounts. Trustees This year, we have added Lesley Siddo as a trustee of the charity. The Trustees consider the returns on investment to be satisfactory. We are looking at ways to move our money into avenues that WILL give us a greater return on our investment. Governance The Eldership and Leadership provide spirituaL oversight of the church. The Elders of the church appoint Trustees, and the Trustees collectively form the Church Council. Volunteers We would like to thank all the volunteers who work hard to make our church the tively and vibrant gathering it is, and also for running community events that make a positive impact on the lives of people and families. Supported Charities The Peoples Church has existing partnerships with various charities involved in mission work and community transformation, both locally and worldwide. In particular: The King's Village Ghana We continue to financially contribute toward The King's Village in Ghana, enabling the advancement of education and inclusion of their communities. The support is directed through the UK Charity'The King's ViLlage Ghana,, charity number 1182366, which then oversees and transfers funds to the Ghanaian NGO. More information can be found at www.tkvg.org.uk Assemblies of God The Assemblies of God in Great Britain is the largest Pentecostal Denomination and serves a membership of some six hundred churches nationwide. The Peoples Church has been in affiliation with the denomination since the 1950's. Each member church donates 3 % of their annual income to support the administration and wider work of the denomination. NG Church Network, Nottingham We contribute monthly to a fund that supports integrated projects across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Hope into Action Hope into Action provides homes forthe most vulnerable in society in partnership with local churches. We support one house in Bestwood, where the tenants come under our care and befriending, through The Peoples Church volunteers. World of Worth WOW WOW is a charity and missions organisation that is passionate about restoring dignity and hope to women and girls, helping them to understand that they have value and worth. We are specifically partnering with them to support the Romani community near Plovdiv, Bulgaria, to relieve hardship. Open Doors Every day, miLlions of Christians risktheir lives to followjesus. In more than 70 countries, Open Doors supports them by supplying Bibles, providing emergency reLief and helping persecuted believers stand strong for the long-term. In the UK and Ireland, Open Doors helps the church to pray, give and speak out for those who share our faith but not our freedom. New Life Gambia New Life Children's Centre is a school based in The Gambia, where our mission is to provide children in the local community with full-time quality education, which they wouldn't normally have. It's this education which we believe will give them the opportunityto have a better standard of Life. Streets4Christ Streets4Christ provides those in need with hot meals, refreshments, shower facilities, toiletries, laundry service, advice, support & love, in a safe & supervised environment. Our service users will also have an opportunity to participate in our educational, health & life skills workshops.
