ACTIVITIES AND ACHEIVEMENTS OF THE CHARITY DURING THE YEAR
This is the general report for the Calendar and Financial Year 2024/25 (April 1 – March 31).
We have just come through our second year as Kingdom Life Manchester with a report that continues to celebrate who we are as a church community, our vision, our mission, culture and values built upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This past year has been another year of surveying and laying foundations. I would like to say a massive thank you to the Elders, Trustees, staff, Hub Group leaders and ministry heads and to you, the Partners for all the hard work of service and ministry as we’ve seen the ministries become very fruitful. Each person who has contributed to worship, discipleship, KLTV, Gospel Fest, and our first Family Camp at Cefn Lea, celebrations and other events, our amazing HOSPITALITY team and all the behind the scenes help to promote Jesus and His Kingdom every day, week, month and year.
We have had a few transitions this past year from leadership to personnel. Sandra Harriett became our treasurer following the step down of Tom Jones, who served faithfully in our first year whilst getting married and moving to the Midlands. Sam Fentem, who served as our Administrator, resigned and was replaced by our new Administrator, Peter Rossiter. I am thankful for both Sandra and Peter for coming on board in this past financial year. They are both an asset to the church and a credit to the Kingdom of God for serving in the capacities of their roles – establishing better administration of the KLM and Its finances.
Chukwudum Obi joined our ministry team as a Minister in Training (MIT) of AoG GB. Initially, he was at risk of being dropped from the MIT program due to not serving in a local AoGGB church. After discussions, we welcomed him and his family, recognizing his role as Acting Assistant Pastor. He established KLTV, oversaw the Sunday morning tech team, managed the men’s ministry, and supported me in various ministry areas, including Pastoral Care.
Discipleship is one of the main focuses of the church. We have seen an increase in this area of ministry through the increase in hub groups, the growth in our children and now youth departments. We are looking to establish a creche in the next financial year for all the babies that have been born here over the past year.
We’ve had two weddings and a few child/baby dedications this year. We’ve had a few funerals this past year, saying good-bye to our oldest member, 104 years old.
It is great to see the church community engaging in our new missional arm of the church, Kingdom Rise (KR). From local outreach to global impact, KLM has been involved through KR in our neighborhood and in Spain and Rwanda.
Gospel Fest (GF) is also a local evangelism ministry launched by our own Andy Powell and others which sits under our umbrella, too. Our first outdoor water baptism happened whilst the rain was pouring. It was a great testimony of our faith.
Behind the scenes, a team of professionals have been meeting with our Pastor regarding the future build of KLM. Soon, we hope to have a playbook and then a strategy for moving the project ahead.
New ministry ventures have begun in KLYCC. Jackie Fentem continues to run the café on Saturdays, whilst running the CAP Jobs Club on Tuesdays and a Toddler Group on Fridays. She has developed a great team of people from the area to support the ministry of CAP and the Toddler Group is slowly developing. We do look to see more community engaging ministries to start in the centre as we look to glorify God with the good news of the gospel.
Our finances, of which the report follows, have strengthened through a couple of streams. One being Building Hire by MSBN and a Light and Life Missions throughout the year. The other is from the generous giving of finances and resources from our church community.
From the finances, we have been able to upgrade the building with a new fire safety system, repair the roof in the portacabin and apply a generous wage increase to our employees.
We would not be able to do what we do for Christ without the enormous efforts of everyone who serves here at Kingdom Life Manchester – hospitality, worship, teachers, leaders, tech, KLTV, welcome, pastoral care, administration, evangelism and outreach, prayer, events, camp, etc. Thankful – grateful. This is all about Jesus, His Gospel, our ability to live his Kingdom Life.
