Section 3 Declaration

**The trustees have approved the trustees’ report above.**

**Signature: Full name:** Pastor David Corke **Position** : Chairman **Date:**

## **Our activities throughout the year have fulfilled these objectives through:**

A very different and difficult year, the church was challenged by the impact of COVID-19 on all levels. On the onset of Covid we had to change how we operated whilst maintaining our core mission & vision working to the charity’s objectives.

## **Church Online**

We moved from face-to-face services to online, all our services were recorded and went out live on YouTube for Sunday services and Pastor David’s mid-week live session, half an hour of encouragement with the word and prayer.

As face-to-face services re-started after the first lock down, we opened up our doors, in accordance with all the Covid rules and restrictions. Also, during this season we continued with live-stream services on You Tube to the end of the year for the benefit of those who needed to isolate.

Sunday School & Youth interaction ran on Zoom, homegroups, prayer meetings and ministry meetings took place on Microsoft Teams. Our aim was to continue to provide faith development, spiritual and pastoral support, personal encouragement, friendship, and companionship trying to meet a range of needs for all ages.

## **Sunday School & Youth Group**

Our leaders created online digital Sunday school and youth sessions for children, young people to access, delivering bible studies, fun engaging lessons that taught biblical principles and memory verses each week for the children to remember. Leaders were able to link in with their teams and families connecting with one another.

Once restrictions eased our Eden worker set up detached sessions to keep engaging with the Youth on the Falinge Estate. we then also took practical action to serve our community.

## **Breakfast Club**

Serving the very needy, homeless, and marginalised. The team of volunteers cooked up a weekly hot full English breakfast takeaway style, served hot drinks come rain or shine. Serving around 25/30 on a weekly basis. Giving out toiletries, care packages, clothes, treats and bibles and offering prayer to anyone who

2

**Trustees’ Annual Report (Accompanying Receipts and Payments Accounts)** CC57(c)

wishes to be prayed for, we listened to them share stories. It is a privilege to serve those in need.

## **Over 50’s Meals on Wheels**

As our Monthly Over 50’s Luncheon Club had to close due to the national lockdown, we took the opportunity to reach out to our local community. Providing Meals on Wheels for the over 50’s. Using Church facilities, we cooked, prepared, and delivered food to those who have been self-isolating or shielding. The project continued throughout the crisis, preparing, and delivering hot nutritious meals and desserts on a weekly basis to 20/25 people, in and around the Rochdale Borough.

We hope our report tells a story of what we have tried to achieve during 2020, but more importantly, that it helps our members and others to plan for the future. The church has changed how it operates, but not what it does.

**Ministry:** Pastor David Corke is a free church Chaplain in H.M.P. Buckley Hall.

**Hebron Church** continues to hold status with Assemblies of God (GB).

## **Our plans for the future include:**

Our twenty/ twenty vision rolls on and we are excited about the plans God has for us as local church. My prayer is that over the next few years people will get saved every week and then every day as the momentum gathers. I believe a key word for 2021 was adapting to a new culture whilst under living under severe restrictions; this took a tremendous effort from God’s people and now we have an increased involvement in the life of the church.

Our vision to see a renewed community as people who are saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered and then:

## _**Love & serve God, love and serve people, share God with people**_

We have not seen the kind of growth that we would like to see, but sometimes churches need a ‘fallow years to rest the soil’ so that the next year will prove to be the most productive. My vision is still the same “Rochdale shall be saved”. Nothing is impossible with God. That will happen as we present the gospel to the

lost souls of our community and for those who respond we need to disciple them until they are mature in the Faith.

Theme for 2021 A YEAR OF HOPE

“ _The Lost Saved, the Saved Pastored, the Pastored Discipled & the Discipled Sent!”_

- Continued structured and inspirational Public Worship, Christian Training and Study.

- Planned activities for all age groups, including the elderly and the youth.

- Special meetings for advancement of the Christian religion and inviting Guest Speakers.

- Church property and facilities are adequately maintained, we undertake some much need roof repairs during 2020, we will continue to renew and make repairs when necessary.

## **Building**

Roof replacement began in 2020 with the remaining work to be carried out in 2021 along with new windows to the back of the church hall.

## **Reserves Policy**

It is our policy to maintain a balance on unrestricted funds, if possible, which equates to at least 3 months unrestricted payments, to cover emergency situations that may arise from time to time.

## **Church Fire Risk Assessment**

The Church building has 5 potential fire risk areas: _main hall, minor hall, kitchen, cafe area and café kitchen._ The identified fire hazards are _gas appliances in main Kitchen, electrical: fryer and electrical equipment in the café kitchen._

## **The existing Fire Arrangements are deemed to be adequate because:**

Fire alarm system meets current regulations and is maintained under contract with a professional company.

The congregation is regularly reminded of the Fire Arrangements which and also announced when appropriate.

4

**Trustees’ Annual Report (Accompanying Receipts and Payments Accounts)** CC57(c)
