Section D

Achievements and performance

Summary of the main Following Government guidelines around meeting during achievements of the charity COVID, Church services and prayer meetings were carried during the year out over Zoom. We recommenced meeting in person in August. As the guidelines permitted, we also met for a time of open-air worship in July preempting our return, in the church car park. Congregation numbers had dropped prior to and during lockdown. Since resuming in-person services, our attendance has began to grow, with a number of new faces attending and serving in the church. Foreseeing and returning to in-person services has been akin to a relaunch of the church and it's mission within Bury: a new 'tag line' has been adopted, along with an updated website clarifying the current work of MCC.

In July 2021, after a period of consultation, the Church Council appointed Tristan Sherwin to be the new senior minister (Pastor) of Metro Christian Centre, Bury.

During the year we have continued to proclaim the gospel of and according to the Lord Jesus Christ at Bury and

of, and according to, the Lord Jesus Christ at Bury and
Whitefeld and provided ministry support to several
churches in the wider Manchester area. Our commitment to
establishing connections in our local community has
included running a MacMillan Cofee afternoon in October,
and serveral outreaches during Christmas.
The church at Whitefeld also met over Zoom and 'in
person' from mid-September. Although there was a drop in
attendance whilst members remained cautious of meeting
in groups. The Mums and Toddler group no longer meets,
however, we are looking to establish this again be it at
MCC Whitefeld or Bury. A Life Group has been established
in the community.
We have maintained our active, regular support of missions
overseas, in addition to donations to other missions felds.
SMASH Youth programmes continue to sustain their
numbers, although this was through Zoom during COVID.
They have enjoyed meeting with other young people at
LivIt Camp and had energetic weekends away in Wales.

Section D (Cont'd) Achievements and performance
The Church, originally in conjunction with the Oglesby
Trust, but now independantly funded, has instituted a
humanitarian project named Trust House in Whitefeld,
providing meals, assistance, training and a Pantry Shop for
the homeless and disadvantaged people in the area,
distributing parcels of food donated by local supermarkets
and shops. In January 2022 they will be moving to Parkhills
Community Centre. Transport will be provided to those in
need.
A new automated wheelchair lift was succesfully installed
in September, with a capacity of 300 Kg SWL. Half of the
fnances for this were provided via a grant application. We
are currently looking at upgrading the old boiler in the
community centre with something more efcient in the
new year.
The Church operates an approved Child Protection Policy
across all its children's and youth ministry based on the
model provided by ThirtyOne:Eight, an advisory service
endorsed by the Department of Health and the Department
for Education and Skills (see www.thirtyoneeight.org for
further information).

deficit
Further financial review details The annual undesignated income shows a significant
decrease mainly because of movement away of church
members and reflecting the economic circumstances
among our congregation and the pandemic. Our
expenditure is correspondingly reduced as necessary
adjustments have been made to staff positions.
Section E Financial review (continued)
In addition to our financial assets, there are fixed assets in
the freehold properties located at 13-23 Parkhills Road,
total insured value buildings and contents £5,186,593.00.
