Main Objedives for the Year..
The main objectives for year for organisation to work towards the
achievement of its aims are the following:
1. Provide purpose deslgnefj sep4lces tailored to the needs and ts difficultie8

2. To run these services and projects in such a way that those of the
community who need sw)port would be able to access Nthenever they
need it in an environment they feel comfortable without experiencing

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCES
The main Sefvices and Activiti'es for the year
A summary of our main activiti'es that ￿ provKle for our community through
direct access are as follows:
For the year erKlirYJ 2020 we provrded setvice to 300 different persons in
inStan￿S of service of 1500. We managed most of the service we provrded
involved General Advice and Informatic￿ to support members to access
services available both l¢xally and nationally. Over the year, we increased the
number of Advocacy support services provided to our customers to get tre
SeNi￿S and benefits that they are entitled to under the law. Ilthere a client
need Advocacy involving legal advice we have been refeffing or sign-posting
dients to agencies and institutions Whe￿ they might be to
aC￿sS legal advi￿. We continue receive an inueaslng number of Universal
Credit cases.
2. Ski118 TrainirKJ
We started training young Somali women to become carers within their
communty. In addition we deaded train more volunteers to support and
provide basic advice to those who are affected by the Universal Credit. We
also train our members to provide basic counselling which are culturalty
tailored to the culture of the people. The project is successful and we are
hoping to make this a Perrnar￿nt project

Company law requires the trustees to wepare financial statements for each
financial year. Under that law the trustees have elected to prepare the
financial statements in accordan￿ with Unrted Kingdom Generally A￿pted
Accounting Practice (United lfjngdom Accounting Standards and applicable
law). Under company law the trustees must not approve the financial
ststements unless they are sab'sfied that they give a trLE and fair view of the
state of affairs of the charitable wmpany and the income and expenditure of
the tharitable company for that period. In preparing these financial
statements, the trustees a￿ required to:
i. select suitable actounting policies and then appty them consistently..
ii. observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP,.
make judgements and accounb.ng estimates that are reasonable and prudent"
iii state whether applicable UK Accounting Stsndards have been followed,
subject to any material departures disdosed and explained in the financial
statements,.
iv. prepare Ihe financial statern￿ on the going conom basis unless it is
inappropriate to presume that the (tharitsbie ￿rnpanY will continue in
operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accountiThJ
records that are suffictent to show and explain the diaritable companys
transactions and disdose with reasonable aCC￿racY at any time the financral
posits'on of the charitable company and enable them to ensure trjat the
financial statements comkty wlh the Coryanies Act 2006. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence
for taking reasonable steps for the P￿ventIon and detection of fraud and other
irregularitses.

I report on the accounts of the d)arity for the year ended 31 Marth 2021 set
out on pages 11 to 16.
RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND INDEPENDENT
EXAMINER
The charrty's truslees (%*tho are also the directors of Somali Community Centre
for the purposes of company law) are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this
year (under section 43(2) of ttE(the 1993 Act), as arnended by section
28 of the charities Act 2006) arKI that an indeFendent examination is needed.
HavFng satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company
law and is eligible for independent examinab'on. it is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts (under section a313){a) of the 1993 Act as amended).,
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Direcb'ons grven by the
Charity Commission (under section 43(7(b) of the 1993 Act as amended),. arKI
to state whether particular matters have cfft to my attention.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT
My examination was (￿rried out in accordance with the General Directions
given by the Charity Commission. J¥n examinalion includes a review of the
accounting records kept by the charity and a ￿mpariS0n of the accounts
presented with those records. It also indudes consideration of ary unusual
