During the past year 2024/25 a major activity was a scheme to support primary school literacy within the Tiverton area. This accounted for income of £21,600 and expenditure of £17,200. Additional income was raised from a grant through Devon Community Foundation and a 50% contribution from the schools involved. The expenditure reflected the payment of consultants who delivered the extra learning to pupils who were identified as in need of support with their literacy.
Other fund raising included a Community Fun Day, a Christmas Grotto, a Quiz, street collections, member donations and other activities totalling £24,000. After direct costs the proceeds were distributed to a variety of local, national and international charities, including -
-
Shelterbox
-
Kira Farm
-
Rotary International (incl. Polio eradication)
-
Uplift Devon
-
Hospiscare
-
Devon Air Ambulance
-
Wilcombe School (computers)
-
Libraries Unlimited
-
A number of smaller donations
Our objectives for the year were achieved, in that funds raised through the activities of the Rotary Club have been applied to enhance the local, national and international community in furtherance of our wider Rotary aims.
The fund holds reserves sufficient to meet cash flow requirements, and contingency funds for winding down schemes should grant support not be forthcoming and for commitments made to other charitable organisations.
The charity does not hold any funds as a custodian trustee and has no debts.

Independently inspected by John Anderson BA CPFA November 2025 Approved by the Trustees November 2025
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF ROTARY CLUB of TIVERTON FOUNDATION TRUST FUND
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 June 2025.
Respecve responsibilies of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparaon of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under secon 144(2) of the Charies Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examinaon is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts under secon 145 of the 2011 Act;
-
follow the procedures laid down in the general Direcons given by the Charity Commission under secon 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
-
state whether parcular maers have come to my aenon.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examinaon was carried out in accordance with the general Direcons given by the Charity Commission. An examinaon includes a review of the accounng records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideraon of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanaons from you as trustees concerning any such maers. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “true and fair view” and the report is limited to those maers set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
In connecon with my examinaon, no maer has come to my aenon:
- which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements to keep accounng records in accordance with secon 130 of the 2011 Act; and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounng records and comply with the accounng requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met; or
- to which, in my opinion, aenon should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
