R **eport of the Trustees for the year ended 31 March 2021** 

ALCC  Family Church’s mandate is to outwork the Biblical principles of The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) and the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) through a dedicated leadership team.  We are intentional about positively impacting our local community through the biblical principles of Fellowship, Worship, Discipleship, Pastoral Care and Outreach. 

ALCC  Family Church embraces social inclusion and aims to reflect the community it serves. We are a multigenerational, and multi-cultural Church and that welcomes everyone. The Church works hard to create a culture where everyone can feel welcome, valued and accepted. 

**Governance and Management** The trustees are responsible for making the major decisions regarding the formulation and implementation of the charity’s aims and objectives, and for monitoring and controlling all its financial resources. 

To fulfil their role, the trustees held 6 meetings during the year. 

Holmewood is a deprived area. The needs of the community are great many suffer with low self-worth many have been in abusive relationships; many live-in poverty and we have a large number of one parent families. All our workers at ALCC are volunteers none of the volunteers receives payment for running any of the mentioned groups below. 

The Church leaders recognize that the volunteers and leaders of our many departments work very hard they care about our community and want to touch people lives with Gods love; they are so faithful and sacrifice their time and finances to do so.  We appreciate them all and thank them for all their help without them the work would not be able go on. 

## **Main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects this year were: -** 

**Mums Tots meet on a Tuesday morning 9. 15 am to 11am** school term only the children can enjoy soft play, craft activities, stories, singing, music and movement and healthy snacks, whilst the mums catch up over coffee and cake. This is a great place to meet other mums and to help, support and encourage each other. 

**Dynamite Club 5-11 years old meet on Fridays at 6pm to 7.15pm** school term only A special club just for Kids we realise that having a dynamic children’s work plays an important part in creating a place where everyone belongs. Children have fun together crafts, games, singing, football etc. We teach Christian principle, to care and respect each another and the community, to work together as a team.  Our aim is to create a happy friendly and exciting place where kids can come along and have fun in a safe environment.  Parents are invited to join us for coffee while the children enjoy their meeting. We are well established in our community and local school and have been running now for over 20 years. 

**Safe House Youth club 12-18 years old and over meet Friday 8pm-9.30pmSchool** term only It’s a place to 

stop the act and enjoy being yourself no matter where you come from what school you go to and what beliefs you have hold or what your background is. Its very hand on! We divide the sessions into bite size chunks of listening discussing munching socialising and playing crazy games. The session’s covers issue relating to preteens and early adolescents such as developing a healthy Self-image, relationships strategies to deal with peer pressure. Our aim is to equip young people   so that they can make positive life choices and avoid pitfalls that a lot of teenagers in this area have fallen into 

**LIVING HOPE** we have  a charity shop and  food banks, operating under the name of Living Hope. 



The Charity shop in Holmewood is open Monday to Friday  and sell donated clothing and Bric-a-Brac for the sole purpose of raising funds to buy ambient foods for the two Food Banks, to redistribute to the needy in our Area The Food Banks is located at Abundant Life Christian Centre Holmewood . 

The whole Living Hope project is staffed and run by volunteers. 

Most service users are referred to us for various reasons by Job Centres, Social Services ( All Departments) Schools, C.A.B. Mat Teams, Women’s Aid, Social Housing and some are so desperate they just turn up, as they are  not able to provide for their children due to difficult circumstances that have arisen in their lives. 

**Counselling services** We have two qualified clinical and pastoral Counsellors available to the community at no costs to the client. This year we have run the following Group counselling sessions low self-worth, fear, anxiety, rejection .

## **Church Prayer meetings  Monday  Friday Morning** 

**WE Visits 3 old people’s homes in our community monthly** WE have a little mini service and a time of singing The GOOD OLD DAYS STYLE  The RESIDENTS  love it 

**We have continued to support the work at the orphanage in India** and Emmanuel has updated us by video calls  throughout the year to bring encouraging updates about the work there .and how the money is being spent it’s a pleasure to be involved   in such a great work. 

## **We** hold one services on a Sunday 

The Church’s ministry has continued throughout the year with regular services of worship, preaching and teaching.   Alongside community-based efforts which have included messy church community barbeques, mothering Sunday Family services, Sunday lunches, firework display film nights and Easter and Christmas Gifts for  home alone people in the village. The trustees are delighted at the attendance at all the community focused departments and we are encouraged that we are now attempting to reach every age group in our Local Community. 

The trustees confirm that they have paid due regard to Charity Commission guidance on public benefit in deciding what activities to undertake.    Achievements 

**HOUSE-GROUPS** People are encouraged to belong to a ‘House -Group’. House-groups meet regularly for prayer, bible study and social activities in people’s homes. There are 2 House-groups, each consisting of up to 15 members. 

**MEDIA USE AND COMMUNICATION** The Church has embraced a change in culture and has developed a strategy for raising awareness of the Church and its purpose through modern media and technology. 

**During the pandemic restrictions   we have applied all the government guidelines invested in equipment so that when we were unable to attend the building we could do our services study’s  prayer meeting on line We have had weekly zoom meetings And   a great team of volunteers who worked really hard to maintain this service** 



**The children’s meeting were suspended but Facebook contact was maintained**

## **LEGALITIES:** 

The Managing Trustees have developed a ‘Compliance Matrix’ to strengthen its governance. 

**Child Protection and the Protection** In line with its responsibility for of Vulnerable Adults, all appropriate DBS checks were reviewed in 2021 

. 

## **ALCC Church continued in its compliance with food safety standards.** 

## **Related Party Transactions   No payments have been made to any trustee** 

The Trustees are committed to strategic development and succession planning to ensure the long term future of the Church and Charity. 

The Church Council is maintaining  planning for the long-term future of the Church seeking to train, develop and introduce new leaders and volunteers drawn from the membership, whilst also committed to succession planning and the preparation for the recruitment of a full or part-time paid leader at some future point. 

This strategy is designed to provide natural succession and a contingency plan as the current leadership eventually retire.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/3/2020 

**Responsibilities and basis** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of  the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
