MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND ACHtEVEMENTS IN THE YEAR
The purpose of s￿llting
Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal developmen¢ cmpowering
them lo make a positiv¢ contribution to society.

The Scout Method
Scou(ing takes place when young people. in parthership with adults, work together based on the values of
Scouting and:
enjoy what they arc doing and havc fun
take part in activities tndoors and outdoors
learn by doing
share in Spiritual refl¢¢tion
take responsibility and make choices
undertake new and challenging activities
make and liv¢ by thcir Promise.
The Group consisted of 39 youth members covering the Beavcr Scouts, Cub S¢outs and S¢outs Section$.
In addition there were adults involved &s leaders or administrators - all of whom gave their services
voluntarily.
COVID-19 has restricted much of the Group's activities and alternative m¢thods of meeting have been
used where possiblc.
Mcclings via Zoom, Meetings outside with restricted numbeT of young people were undertaken
during the periods between Lockdown l ond 2 in accordance with Government Guidelines
(irants from HM Government have helped to defrdy the loss of fund rnising. subscriptions, And Group
running costs.

Face to face Scouting was suspended on various occasions during 202012021 due to thc COVID-19
lockdown. Thc Group lost some of ils ability to fimdrai5e so will continuc to control its. spendin&F until
such time &8 active Scouiing can fully resume.
The Group's governing documents are those of The Scout Association. They consist of a Royal Charter,
which in turn gives authority io the Bye Laws of the Association and the Policy. Organisation and Rules
of the Scout ASS￿latIon.
The Group is a trn81 established under the rules which are common to all Scouts. The Trustees are
8ppoinled in accordance with the Policy, Orgonisation & Rules of The Scout Association.
At thc cnd of the year income rcscrves amounted to £27,087. The Group's policy on rcscrves is to hold
sufficient funds r¢adily available lo support, members and the h¢adquartcrs for which it is responsible.
The accounts have been drawn up on a receipts and payments basis which is consistent with the previous
year.

counts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in ￿SpeCt of my examination of the 12 Northolt Scout Group accounts carried out under section
145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examinaiion I have followed all the applicable Directions
given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b> of the Acl.
