It has been my privilege to continue to serve as the pastor at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Gateshead since February 2020, and although I will reach retirement age in February 2026, during this financial year I offered to remain in the pastoral role for another year up until February 2027, which the trustees and leadership of the Church agreed to.
It has been another busy year which saw us grow numerically, as we have continued with our weekly activity. We decided part way through this financial year to amalgamate our two midweek services which were a prayer meeting on the Wednesday evening and a ministry meeting on a Friday evening into one service, which is held on a Friday evening and includes both a time for prayer and ministry., we have continued to hold two Sunday services, one in the morning and the other in the evening. The Sunday morning service is our most attended service as we join for praise, communion and ministry, the first Sunday morning of the month is given over to a family service, catering more towards the children and young people who attend.
Once a month a ladies fellowship is held, and weekly on a Wednesday except during the summer school holidays a coffee morning.
Over the financial year we have given financial support to Platform 67, The Christian Institute and Claire Kinkead Junction Church in Jamaica, we also sent an additional contribution to Junction Church following the hurricane that had caused so much damage.
Additionally, we made a financial contribution following our Carol Service to Mission without borders and also from our coffee mornings a donation of £150 to Crohn’s and Colitis UK, we have also continued to support the Gateshead foodbank throughout the year and during our harvest thanksgiving we collected 75KG of various food and hygiene items which we donated to them.
We had a considerable expense during the year as our roof became damaged and needed to be replaced, but this cost was covered through a legacy that was given to the Church by a member who had died a year previously.
During this year we have sought to continue to meet our object which is to preach the good news of the gospel, and to meet the spiritual needs of those who attend on a regular basis.
