TRUSTEES REPORT 1.4.22 TO 31.3.23 WARWICK NEW LIFE CHURCH, FRIARS STREET, WARWICK CHARITY NO. 1052018 The Trustees who served during the financial year were Pastor Linz Alexander (Chairperson/Ministerl, Stacey Bains {Treasurer/Elder} and Vicky Goma (Secretary/Elderl. Trustees are appointed by the Minister and the Elders. AOG Property Trust remained Holding Trustees for the building. The legal structure for the charity is an unincorporated association. Our governing document is the Assemblies of God New Model Deed Trust. The principal aim of the charity is the advancement of the Christian faith. As a worshipping community of believers our objectives are to serve Jesus by serving others and making niii I known. After the aftermath of Covid it was great to not only meet together in person but to meet up to collectively serve our community. Our Crash-out Kids Club and Youth Club resumed again and immediately got off to an amazing re-start with an unprecedented number of children attending both clubs. Having been missed by many, the excitement of being able to start back had many of the young people bring many of their friends along too who had never been before. During the year we were able to hold our first summer camp since ?019 and we were also able to take many of the young people on trips undertaking many various activities throughout the year. HAF funding also allowed for some extra activities during the school holidays enabling us to further support families. Our church building was well used as a Warm Hub with higher numbers coming along from the community to our Community Cafe where a free hot dinner and desert is served as well as offering a warm space to meet and socialise with others. Prior to the café being open, church volunteers made weekly visits to the elderly and those living alone giving out free cakes etc. This allowed us to encourage their participation in the Community Café and new Boccia Club as well as providing an opportunity to do a welfare check. Various nights out and day trips were also a great success further enabling community cohesion and bringing a sense of fun and laughter. Our newly opened Community Supermarket/Shop could not have come at a more needed time as the cost-of-living crisis has really made it difficult for
many. The small contribution we ask for enables us to buy fresh veg and this alongside the meat from our Your Farmer Foodbank allows those in need to cook some really healthy meals. We also continued to support families with the supply of second-hand furniture and white goods- as donations were given to us, we donated them free of charge to those in need. Having our own van for collections and drop- offs certainly helps. This year we were also able to further support those in need by sending one of our volunteers on an external course to offer debt and benefit support and her knowledge gained has been a help to others. Our Your Farmer Foodbank has also worked well during the year with Warwick's Social Prescribing Service, the Schools, Social Services and other Churches etc making referrals to us. The sweet shop in Warwick town centre continues to offer a great platform to work from and by our continued partnering with Warwick District Foodbank and the town's Church of England Churches in supplying food parcels during the school holidays we have been able to more fully support Warwick people with household food insecurity issues and those just experiencing a financial pinch. The charity's finances were used to fund the aforementioned activities and to support the upkeep of its building. We also made regular donations to some organisations that operate with a similar ethos to ourselves. With respect to reserves in the Charity's bank accounts, these were carried forward into the next financial year in order to meet planned expenditure and imminent bills. {Pastor Linz Alexander) Signed on behalf of the Trustees for Warwick New Life Church
