The mission statement is to bring Good News to the heart of the community. This being a practical and culturally relevant expression of Christian faith accessible to all and particularly those in greatest need. ## **Activities 2020-2021** Due to Government restrictions in-person activities at the church ceased for most of the financial year. Services continued on Facebook and communication was maintained with members and others connected with the fellowship. A foodbank has operated from the church led by the Pastor Philip Ingram. We are thankful that we are able to meet again in person and with a renewed focus on serving the community and bringing people to know a loving God. At the year end the charity’s unrestricted cash reserve amounted to £8,098. In the coming months a formal review of church finances and reserves is to be undertaken. The charity owns the building from which it operates. ## **STRUCTURE GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** The charity is an independent charity. Trustees are appointed as required and aim to have a broad range of skills and contacts within the church community. Meetings are held regularly. The charity is governed by a constitution and trust deed of 2006. Approved by order of the Trustees and signed on their behalf on 27th January 2022 by: Colin Ingram 3 ## **BRIERFIELD PENTECOSTAL CHURCH Period ended 31[st] March 2021** I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the period ended 31 March 2021. ## **Responsibilities and basis of report** As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe: - (1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by Section 130 of the Act; or - (2) the accounts do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
