**cost £650,000 of which we provided**
**£325,000. Prior to this the Heart Unit was**
**the only one of its size in the country**

**research facility will enable the**
**Cardiothoracic Unit to become an**
**internationally recognised centre of**
**excellence. The money raised will finance**
**a leading edge facility which will include**
**a dedicated clinical setting for patients in**
**research trials .**
**During the year under review we agreed**
**to finance part of the overspend on the**
**provision of the Research Centre,**
**providing £60,000, paid in January 2024.**|
