NOTES TO ACCOUNTS FOR THE 12 MONTHS ENDING 31[ST] MARCH 2023

INCOME

Now that Observed runs have restarted membership fees were charged in the year due.
The associate fees were for 21 Associates who joined in the year.
Legacy. We received totally unexpectedly a large legacy of £53.6k from Alison Margaret Ashworth. She was a member of West Pennine Group, but as that group had ceased, the Executors decided that the money should be distributed to 3 IAM Groups in Greater Manchester, one of which was Stockport.
These funds will be utilised to further the progress of advanced driving. We are still debating on how best to use this unexpected legacy.
Interest has increased as a result of investment of the legacy along with higher interest rates.

EXPENDITURE

With the resumption of activities, room hire, refreshments, purchase of highway codes and regional activities have returned to more normal levels.
Unfortunately, most of the associates in the year were not able to benefit from our under 36 rebate programme, as we have only had a few young associates during the year.
HSBC like most other banks started charges fees for charity bank accounts. In the previous year we had only 4 months of charges compared to 12 months in the current year.
We decided to take an advert for 3 editions of Inside Bramhall. We await with interest to see if this will bring in more associates.

BALANCE SHEET

You will note that most of our funds have been invested in Cambridge and Counties Bank. We have spread this over a 95 day notice account, a 1 year fixed term bond and a 2 year fixed term bond. The interest on the bonds will be

received upon the maturity of the bond. All 3 accounts pay a competitive rate of interest.
