## Charity Commission Report 2021

## _**Register Charity Number 1051204**_

The Trustees of London Road Pre-School present the Annual Report and audited accounts for the year ending 31[st] August 2021 and confirm that they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.

## **Our Aims**

The Pre-School operates under the Pre-School Alliance Constitution 2015. The object of the Pre-School is to offer Early Years Education for children whose age range from two years to four years. This is obtained through structured activities that enhance the child’s development.

## **Our Objectives**

At London Road Pre-School we continually strive to create a warm and nurturing environment in which children feel physically and emotionally safe.

- To create a homely atmosphere in which all staff know all children, and every child’s individual needs are accepted, valued and met in order to support each child in reaching their full potential.

- To instil in children a lifetime love of learning.

- To provide children with unique and exciting activities and experienced which promote development in all areas of learning.

- To encourage a freedom of expression within a well-prepared and stimulating environment.

- To develop and close and supportive relationship with parents to ensure that we work together to meet the needs of all children.

- To support children in developing confidence in their own abilities.

- To ensure our Pre-School community works within a framework that promote equal opportunity regardless of religion, size, ability, gender, culture, age, sex, and disability.

## **Review of Activities and achievements**

The Pre-School accepts two old year funding and three- and four-year-old funding, as well as fee paying children which are charged at £13.00p per three-hour session.

This has been another very difficult and challenging year for the Pre-School. In September of 2020 Pre-School opened its doors after the summer break and ensured staff and children were safe to return. Extra equipment at Pre-School expense was purchased to achieve this.

Fundraising is extremely difficult although two small events were held at Christmas and Easter unfortunate no parents could attend. This raised a little extra funds, but PreSchool has raised very little and rely on reserves made pre pandemic.

**Our Finances**

Several items have been purchased through the year but nothing of any significant value.

Any increase in funding is soon lost in the increase in wages and pension.

.

Pre the pandemic Pre-School usually made a small profit which was a significant help in the months leading up to Christmas.

Numbers are a crucial factor we have far fewer fee-paying children than before the pandemic. This could be family’s financial uncertainty in the difficult era that we are in.

## **Our Strategy and Policies**

Pre-School’s last Ofsted inspection was in January 2017 and the organisation achieved a GOOD the credit does go to the Supervisor and staff who are committed to supplying high quality early years education and would like to excel to an even greater standard.

The policies that the Pre-School adheres to are continually being updated to cater for new and existing challenges that the Pre-School must face now and in the future.
