## - Annual General Meeting May 2024 Manager/Chair Report From our last AGM in January 2023 and looking back from the last academic year up to December 2023 we have continued to see rise in the take up of places throughout the setting as you can see with the comparisons below. In the Spring Term we introduced breakfast time replacing our mid-morning snack, we have found this to be a success with lots of children sitting down in the morning with their friends enjoying their cereals, toast, or other foods on offer. In February Abbie from Bumbles went on maternity leave and soon after gave birth to a beautiful little girl called Poppy. The children as always loved World Book week where they were able to dress up in their favourite characters from books or television. Some children also took part in our sponsored read where we raised £158.50 and our lucky winner Helena who raised the most money was over the moon with her Elsa crown and princess costume prize. In March the children celebrated Holi a Hindu spring festival where coloured powders are thrown on one another, as you can imagine the children and staff really enjoyed this and were left looking like rainbows. For Easter we held an Easter Hat parade, you could see the children and parents had worked really hard to create their hats which all looked amazing, and it made it very difficult for staff to make only two votes each for their favourite creations. We were lucky enough to receive a grant where we were able to use the money to purchase a lovely home-corner for the preschool room, where they loved pretending to have tea parties, reading recipes and making lots of wonderful dishes. ## – Summer Term April 2022 July 2022 With the beautiful weather coming this of all was one of the most exciting term. With some Early Years Pupil Premium money known as EYPP we had some real Duck and Chick eggs for 10 days, the children absolutely loved watching them hatch and looking after them. This really was such a lovely experience for the children to have. We were also able to extend on this and book Miller’s Ark mobile farm, where the farm came to Beaumont. The children were able to spend the day meeting, Pigs, Donkeys, and very bouncy goats. With one of our areas for development being our outdoor area and one of our children loving anything truck related, we were able to use some Disability Access Funding to purchase a large wooden truck. The children loved sitting inside and riding along to many adventures. It was lovely to host another event at the preschool and even more special as it was the King’s Coronation, the children enjoyed lots of activities based on this and we decorated the courtyard ready for our Coronation Picnic, with the support from parents helping and donating it was a huge success and the children loved their special keepsake King’s Coronation medals. In June we welcomed Sam to the preschool room, however sadly lost Olivia. Throughout the summer term the children enjoyed outings and got to see lots of different things from visiting train and bus station to visiting the duck ponds, parks, library, and the local police station. But best of all Going on Bear Hunts in the local wooded areas. As we neared onto towards the end of the summer term the school leavers were busy with getting ready for school and transition days at there new school for their next big adventures. The children had their Leaver’s photos done and all looked amazing in their graduation gowns. Along came the Leaver’s prom and the staff worked hard to transform the preschool into a Hollywood Themed setting with the help of parents donating food, making balloon arches, and donating items via our Amazon wish list. With our glitzy red carpet, it really made it a VIP experience for the children, and they partied the afternoon away with disco and lights. It was sad to see another cohort of children leave our setting, but we knew they were ready to take the next step in their journey and they left with a reminder of Beaumont with their graduation hat boxes with a special graduation medal inside. The day before the prom, we had our Ofsted visit and were sadly graded Requires Improvement, the actions identified were primarily to develop a clear and ambitious curriculum across all areas of learning and that this is embedded throughout the setting. This was sad news for us all however pathed the way for us to really reflect on our provision as a whole and as I write this report May 2024 it really has made a really positive impact. ## – Autumn Term September 2022 December 2022 We welcome back children returning from the Summer holidays and as every term lovely new children and families joining the Beaumont family. This term we had a high number of staff unfortunately leave Beaumont such as Chris, Emily, Rebecca, Sam, and Toomey which we were sad to see go to their new careers. However we welcome Abbie back from maternity, Claire started in the preschool and Tori took on a new role as our SENDCO who would oversee and support all our children with additional needs. With our Ofsted action, we focused highly on developing our curriculum and environment, we decided to move from In the moment planning to a more structured format and created Aspirations for what we want our children to achieve by the time they move from Bumbles to Preschool and Preschool to Reception. Our Curriculum in a nutshell is the EYFS. We now use themes as well as children’s interests and experiences to provide activities and learning based around the 7 areas of learning, this supports the children in reaching their full potential and achieving the aspirations we have for them. With the curriculum change the children explored a wide variety of themes and activities surrounding our learning intentions for example the children explored Light/Dark, Harvest/Autumn and Winter/Arctic and Polar animals. We also incorporated regular events such as Christmas and family celebrations, Potions and Pumpkins, Remembrance Day as well as Fireworks/Bonfire Night. The children were also very excited to have a fire engine visit where they were able to explore the vehicle meet the fire people and even spray the fire hose. The festive season and end of the autumn term came fast, the children came in wearing lots of Christmas jumpers and had so much fun creating wonderful creations and doing lots of amazing activities. The term ended with staff and children visiting Princes Hall theatre to watch the Alladin pantomime which was a magical experience. So what are our development plans? As a setting we a consistently developing whether that be from conversations, supervisions or just simply day to day ideas, we do have more focused developments where we use specifically sourced funding such as grants or fundraising, our previous developments have been outdoor provision which have been ongoing, however we have now been able to start creating our sensory garden in the main courtyard.
