Valli Charitable Trust Trustees. Report The Iruslees presenl their report together wlh the financial statements of the chariiy for the year ended 30 April 2024 Constitution and objects The Valli Charitable Trust was established under a trust deed dated 18 October 1995 and has been approved by Ihe Inland Revenue Charity division. The Trust was registered wtth the Charity Commission {registration number 1050707) on 15 November 1995 as a charity whose primary purpose is to hold the trust fund and its income upon trust and to apply them for the following objects- The relief of the aged who are in need of care and attention because of the disabilities of old age by the provision ol accommodation and olher basic necessities of life as required IZakat}. b The relief of poverty of persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. in particular by the provision of temporary accommodation and other necessities of life as required (Lillahl. The advancemenl of religion according lo the tenets of the Islamic faith {Sadqah). Fund raising The general fund represents donations received from individuals and UK companies. Dlsbursemenl ol lunds During the year, £137,644 (2023: £193,223) was donated to worthwhile causes split between Zakat, Lillah and others. Zakat and Sadqah both represents amounts paid to families in tM)verty io help wilh accommodation and other basic necessities of life. Lillah represents amounts paid for the construction and refurbishment of mosques in the UK and abroad and for the advancement of religion. Reserves and Granl making policy The trustees endeavour lo distribute income received in the year to worthwhile charitable causes. The trustees meet regularly to assess donation requests. Each application is viewed on its own merits. Risk Review and Management The trustees aim to ensure that any major risks facing the trust are identified and steps are laken where appropriate to mitigate them. Valli Charitable Trust Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Valli Charilable Trust I report to Ihe truslees on the accounts of Valli Charitable Trust for 30 April 2024 which are sel out on pages 3 to 5. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The Charity's trustees are responsible for Ihe preparalion of the accounls. The Charity's trustees consider that an audit is nol required for this year under section 144{2) of the Charities Acl 2011 {the 2011 Act) and an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibilty to.. examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act- lo follow Ihe procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act- and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's reporl My examination was carried out in accordance viith General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.The procedures undertaken do nol provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent examinerfs statement In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attenlion: i) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements.. lo keep accounling records in accordance wth seclion 130 of the 2011 Act- and to prepare accounls which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements ol the 2011 Act, have not been met" or ill to which, in my opinion, allention should be drawn in order lo enable proper understanding of Ihe accounts to be reached.
