Hope Church, Cwmaman - Reports to the AGM 2024 Charity Number 1050518 Chairman's Re ort for Year 2024 MINISTRIES I would like to start by saying a huge 'thank you, to all our leaders and volunteers who give of their time and energy to make all our programs happen. They serve with commitment and passion week after week and I'm personally very grateful for all their hard work. FoodBank. This is such an essential compassion ministry and continues to bring help and support to those in crisis. Every year the number of those we help sadly continues to increase. The Clothes Bank is also a great help to so many who are given access to free clothing. The cafe team are also amazing, not only in providing people with refreshments but also for their willingness to talk and listen to people who are struggling and having a dityicult time and who just need someone to be able to share their burdens with. Kids Club and Hope Kids. We, as a church, believe in reaching and equipping the next generation and through the passion and vision of the Kids Club team and leaders, this is outworked in the life of our church. It continues to be well attended by those who live locally and the feedback we receive is very positive with many of the parents saying how much their kids love coming and some have attended for many years. Hope Kids is also an important ministy serving the children of our church families during a Sunday Service. At the moment we are only able to run it twice a month but ideally we would love to be able to run it every week. This ministry enables the children to learn in an environment that is conducive to their age and understanding while still having fun and enjoying games and crafts. The parents also benefit from this as they get to listen to the sermon without distraction. Please continue to pray for volunteers to help and serve in Hope Kids so that we can make it a weekly program. Jelly Tots Parent and Toddler Group. This is run by two local mums (Kayleigh Grainger and Leanne Perkins) through the Cwm-Unity@Cwmaman Primary School programme who do a fantastic job. I am very grateful for their hard work and commitment. It is well attended each week by local people but also others from further afield. The adults and children alike enjoy the social interaction and time together. Life Groups. Although this continues to be a small group we have seen some grovrth and those who do attend find it a great help and support as they continue on their journey of faith. Life Groups continues to be an encouraging and supportive, safe environment where people can grow in a friendly and infornial setting. Our heart is to see this ministy grow through people coming to salvation and also having a desire to be discipled. Reach, Raise and Release has been our tag line for many years because at the heart of every church should be a desire share the good news, whether that's abroad or in our own locality. Every church has a responsibility to proclaim Jesus. We are blessed as a church to be able to continue our partnership with New Hope Baptist Church from Atlanta. Their love for Wales and especially the valley's always inspires and challenges me about my own passion for this great nation. Our Costa Coffee event with Drakeford was a success - as always. The Ladies event led by Louise Stenner was well supported by our church and other local churches. The ladies had a wonderful time of refreshing, blessing and encouragement. The schools team were brilliant in sharing the gospel with the children in our local primary schools and the feedback from the teachers is always very positive. We are so grateful for the sacrifice that the team from the U.S. make to come on missions. Their love for God and for people is evident in all that they do. FINANCE The church finances are sadly not where we would like them to be. Nevertheless, God continues to be faithful and what we do have has continued to be managed well, enabling the church and it's ministries to continue to run weekly. This is in addition to covering our overheads and paying the wage of a full-time Minister (with the support of Holland Road Church, Brighton and New Hope Baptist Church in Atlanta. We are so thankful and grateful for their continued partnership and generosity). Anthony Phillips gives the Church Council regular updates of the finances as our church treasurer and I would like to thank him for his diligent and excellent stewardship of the church accounts. CHURCH HEALTH Church health isn't easy to measure and like every church, Hope Church continues to have its ebbs and flows. We are healthy to the extent that we have a great team who have a heart to serve our community and who have done so faithfully for many years. The goal as a leadership is to produce more leaders, to grow our volunteers and through the various ministries, see fruitfulness that manifest's itself in salvation and transforn]ation of peoples lives. We need this to feed into our Sunday service so that attendance increases. We desperately need the tide to turn so that Hope Church starts to thrive and not just survive. I believe if we continue to be faithful to God as a church then He will bless us with His favour and provide all our needs according to his riches in glory. VISION Our vision as a church is 'Built for more, Believing for more, Our church has a great legacy and my vision is that it will also continue to have a great future and to be a place where people realise that Christianity is about relationship, not religion. That they would experience God's presence and be transformed by His power and love for them. I want Hope Church to unashamedly proclaim Jesus and unwaveringly stand for unchanging biblical truth so that we can continue to be a light in the darkness. We want to give people hope and a sense of puryose and belonging. GENRAL COMMENTS We were saddened to see Christine and Steve Williams leave the church during 2024 as they moved to Cardiff to be nearer family. They have been such an incredible blessing to our fellowship for such a long period of time. They have lead the church for many years in various roles and we are so very grateful for their love, faithfulness and their many acts of service. We are so thankful for their contribution to the life of our church. We are glad to see them each time they visit and we know that Hope Church continues to be a very special place for them. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Hope church family for their continued support and commitment to the church even when life and circumstances have been difficult and very challenging.
