Charity Objectives and Aims
To advance the Christian religion for the public benefit in accordance with the Statement of Faith in such parts of the UK and the world through:

The organisation and provision of Christian worship;
-
The provision of such facilities and services as are appropriate for the church charity to enable it to fulfil its mission to the members of the church, visitors to the church, and the local community;
-
The provision of facilities for Christian training and service;
-
The support and provision of Christian evangelism and outreach;
-
The provision of assistance to the wider church in its ministries;
-
The furtherance of other charitable work of the charity consistent with the statement: to relieve suffering and hardship and promote good health through the provision of appropriate services.
Structure, Governance and Management
Trustees are appointed to the board by recommendation of the Chairperson and by agreement of the other Trustees. Quarterly Trustee meetings make decisions in relation to the affairs of the Charity, in order to ensure that all activities and achievements provide benefit to the church community.
4
Public Benefit Statement
The trustees confirm that they have had due regard of the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
Our activities promote the advancement of the Christian faith and the wellbeing of the community through teaching, worship, fellowship, and charitable acts of kindness.
Significant Activity for Community Benefit
The main achievements of the Charity over the year has been the continuation in its aim to provide support, teaching, and help to all who come into contact with the Charity. The Charity has sought to fulfill its ongoing objectives in advancing the Christian faith to all age groups and has worked alongside other charitable agencies to provide aid in the community and beyond. We work with other charities to distribute surplus food to the local community, working with Tesco, Waitrose and Bookers.
We continue to regularly hold free-of-charge social events with a Christian theme to which we welcome all people from the local community. One example event is the Light Café, which we hosted in our main building at times through 2024.
5
Plans for the Coming Year
-
Continued outreach in Falmouth.
-
Develop discipleship and leadership training through the ongoing development of the Broken World Discipleship course; also other discipleship courses and introductory courses to the Christian faith. Thereby helping people towards effective Christian service within and outside of the church community.
-
Maintain support for missions and relief work.
-
Develop online and in-person ministry opportunities.
-
Offer assistance and support within the wider Falmouth community through evangelism, community outreach and chaplaincy .

Financial Review and Reserves Policy
Necessary major decoration of our main meeting room, along with the enforced replacement of the main gas heaters in the church was an unusually large and unpredictable expense in 2024. It was paid for through an appeal solely within the charity. The loss of heating effectively closed our main meeting room for nearly a year whilst we worked through various options for replacements.
Partly in consequence, the trustees have determined that reserves should be maintained at a level whereby they can meet foreseeable financial commitments (approximately 3 months’ normal running costs) and maintain the Church buildings at the appropriate standard and continue to advance the objectives of the charity.
This Trustees’ Report and the Annual Accounts together with the Report by the Independent Examiner are approved by the Board of Trustees.
