INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS, REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF MID CORNWALL CHRISTIAN CHURCH I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Mid Comwall CEIstian Church (the Charity) for the year ended 3 1 March 2024, which are set out on pages 4 - 5. This report is made solely to the Charitys trustees. as a body, in accordance with sertion 154 of the Charities Act 2011. My independent examiner's work has been undertaken so that I might state to the Charitys trustees those tnatters l am required to state to them in an independent examiner's report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent perniitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Charity, the CharitVs members as a body and the ChariWs trustees for my independent examiner's work, for this report, or for the opinions I have fornied. Responslbllltles and basls of report As the charity trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,). I report in respect of my examination of the Charitys accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I can confinn that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act. or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Mid Cornwall Christian Church is a registered charity (number 1050243), constituted under Deed of Trust. The Charity is referred by its operating name of Clays Community Church and also referred to as Old Pound Church. The Charity is in fellowship with the Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Ireland, a Registered Charity (number 1032245). Holding Trustees during the year were.. Mr C D Mingo Mrs W M Mingo Miss B D May Mr J C Glanville Holding Trustees and Church Council members are appointed and removed by the Church Council, agreed by a simple majority of the Council. New appointments must fulfil the requirements of the Deed of Trust. Object of the charlty To advance Christian ReIigion by the proclamation and furtherance of the Gospel of God concerning His Son Jesus Christ the Lord and the preaching and teaching of the Word of God by the Church. Activities revlew The Church Council are pleased to report continuing support for the Charity which has enabled it to continue to support Christian Ministers and Organisations, both in this country and overseas. The Church Coundl have revlewed their objectives, policies and activlties to ensure they contlnue to reflect the Chariiys aims. In carrying out this review they have considered the Charity Conunission's revised general guidance on public benefit. Page 2
IVIID CORNWALL CHRISTIAN CHURCH ANNUAL REPORT - Continued FOR THE YL4R ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 Financlal review A deficit of income over expenditure of £20,012.18 (2023: net payments of £1 1, 759.41) arose, resulting in accumulated funds at 31 March 2024 of £135,518.39 (2023: £155,530.57). An annual deficit is expected in the short to medium terni since the Charity employed a fidl time pastor in October 2022. The Charit34s main source of income arose from gifts and offerings, totalling £40,328.60 (2023: £33,620.73). The largest proportion of the expenditure continues to be spent on the support of Christian Ministers and organisations, this year totalling £48,495.63 (2023: £34,950.59). Pa ents to trustees The expenditure includes paentS to those who held office as trustees during the year: Mr A J Higgins: £30,000 salary and employer pension contributions for his services as full time pastor. Mr M J Parsons: £6,000 for his part-time services provided as a minister. MrCD&MrsMWMingo £500 for a retirement gift upon their retirement as trustees Reimbursed expenditure incurred by trustees for the Charity is not listed above. Polley on reserves In detemining the minimum level of reserves that should be maintained by the Charity, the Church Council consider the following aspects: Working capital to fund the norn]al running and ministry costs of the Charity, Property maintenance and improvements, Encome Is frotn voluntary gifts whtch are not guaranteed, Planned expenditure and designated funds, Emergencies/contingencies, Projects/needs which will progress the objects of the Charity.
